And for the record I have already said about my disappointment around this press con I was expecting more info on the product! But for what ever reason They just dont want to let slip "And no Its not because they believe they have a **** GPU Lool

I wouldn't have put it in quite that way, but if Vega is great (for gaming), why not show it?
If launch is only two months out, some of the gaming cards must exist? Only showing prey, with no fps counter and only with two cards, seems odd. AMD know people have been waiting, probably a fair few waiting before going 1080/ti, if you had something decent, why not show it? It's not like Nvidia can just throw volta out if it turns out vega is a beast and rain on the parade.
All the focus on compute and shying away from gaming, does seem rather strange if amd had something really good with vega.

They should've run Firestrike Extreme test with that setup instead of Prey it would have shut all the naysayers up and set the internet on fire, well that's if the score was any good.

Hmm, I'm no marketing expert but that isn't how I'd have teased a product that I was confident in.

That's too long for me now, and I've been delaying since building my Ryzen system on release day.
I think I'm finally going to have to jump ship and buy my first Nvidia card in well over a decade! 1070's aren't cheap though...
Well the super dooper version is going to be released on the 27th of June? As soon as someone gets one of those I assume we will see some proper gaming benchmarks - the kudos to the first site to get proper info on Vega is big enough to warrant getting one of those cards to test.
The only indicator of actual performance I could see is that the VEGA - FE is it? is rated to 25 GFLOPS, that is almost exactly 3 times the compute of the Fury X's 8.6 I don't know if we are going to see a decrease in gaming cards with the 8gb of HBM2 vs 16Gb or higher because of increased core speed.
But if they can pull that order of performance out it is not going to be a card to be sniffed at.
Of course I could be completely wrong and looking at something that doesn't compare

AMD is keeping almost everything hidden from everybody. If they had a competitive product and they could ship it in quantity any time soon, why would they conceal everything while also hyping it? It might make sense if Vega was being kept entirely secret, but AMD have been hyping it for quite a while now. They can't take nvidia by surprise, nor can nvidia do much to bring forward Volta to respond if that was required. You can't hurry a new GPU all that much.
The only reasons I can think of for AMD to deliberately conceal and delay Vega is that it's not competitive with 1080 or that AMD know that cards can't be shipped in quantity. Or both.

No wonder the original Vega thread was buried... maybe the mods knew that this would happen and were trying to save us from the disappointment (and saltyness that would have consumed that thread).

Hmm I'm in the same posistion.
I'm very pessimistic I would have thought if they had the monster we all hope (well most of us) they would have shown something by this time

Glad I got the Ti and this bargain Gsync now, it's pretty damn awesome!!
I'm keeping the Ti and waiting for Volta now, will even get one of the new Asus/Acer HDR Ultrawides to go with it. Pee poor from AMD, damn shame

Wow, I am speechless. Very disappointing, demo was a waste of time, paper launch two months from now, nothing known about RX's performance as running Prey is exactly the same nonsense as running Doom. This is NOT the way to present Vega to gamers at all. If Vega disappoints I am buying my graphics card next door as I am getting tired of constant waiting and PR bull.
