I'm a flitter, I go with what I need from the market. I'm running a Nvidia card the now, but we need AMD to be competitive and this is not the actions (In my view) of a competitor and its very worrying. I really wish Intel hadn't bailed out of the GPU market back in the day, its a run away for Nvidia right now.

So, by the time they have mass (AIB) availability, probably September, the new Nvidia Volta cards will only be 4-5mths away, which will offer at least a 40% jump in performance over Pascal cards.

The 6mth delay on Vega has killed it.

Why did i get my hopes up for some positive news. No news at all is very damaging . It doesnt mean they are hiding a bad vega maybe its a great vega and are worried nvidea might cut there prices. Or am i getting my hopes up again.

Well I guess we can start speculating on why its delayed.
My bet is they are having driver issues getting there new shader engine working. Probably not saying anything after they got burnt on Ryzen with poor game drivers.

The GPU market is a far cry from what it was several years ago, the intrigue of competition at the high end is dead. Due to AMD's continued struggles it's go without or get your wallet burnt with the devil.

Ryzen has already had a big impact on the CPU market and highlights what a bit of competition can do, sadly I don't see Vega having that impact, especially as indicators seem to point towards relatively limited HBM2 availability.

A real shame. Only showing a dual card running Prey and not even showing it well (massive tearing). What this tells me is the single card isn't very good and they are either holding it back to try and eek out more performance or they know they have a card that isn't very good and the only way to make it look better is to dual it. Anyone wanting to go Crossfire or SLI in today's games will be disappointed with the lack of support. I am genuinely gutted for those that have waited and sat on the fence to buy Vega.

LOL glad I missed the event; sounds like it was the ususal AMD PR nightmare. Only thing we wanted to see we didn't get - benchmarks. Something's not right with Vega which is too bad considering there's no chance nvidia will support hdmi 2.1 with all its features. Also why couldn't they specify a release date and prices for threadripper if it's launching in the summer?

What's worse is that it will probably be a paper launch end of July and we will be able to get our hands on a working product a month later at which point NVIDIA will be more than happy to cut prices and be the value option considering Volta is just 3 months away and will likely destroy Vega. I will probably be getting a 1080ti and an i7 7700K considering NVIDIA cards don't perform at their best with Ryzen. Shame

There was no indication that it was a dual card. We don't know either way. Definitely disappointing though.
