The FE should give a general idea about performance. If it matches the 1080, then Vega has a chance here

The demos of Doom and Sniper Elite 4 already show it's ahead of the 1080. The big question is whether it can match a 1080ti. Even if doesn't, aggressive pricing would make it a worthy alternative.

Also greatly depends on what drivers the FE demos were run on. Were they Radeon Pro drivers, or Beta RX Gaming ones?

Either way I do expect a performance bump ones the consumer gaming card is released, but FE should be a nice eye opener.

Rightly so but it's a worrying trend, What could we do if they changed how they do business and cheap key codes became a thing of the past?
They can't. Cheap keys tend to come from places where the average income is very low.

Those keys aren't going anywhere without them losing a load of sales.

Dont preoder or buy the game on day one, wait for a sale.

I tend to do just that but the rise in average game prices puts me off even buying a game I'm looking forward too until it's months old,

What trend? Business model has not changed so moot point

The trend is in rising prices, not that long ago AAA games tended to be around £35-£40, then the dlc's started and the season passes came along increasing the total cost by around £15-£20 quid, That made the total price off a game roughly £50-£60, Nowadays prices have increased by another £15-£25, even more sometimes so yes there is a trend even if you choose not too see it or care it is there.

Maybe if you buy foreign codes and then use Russian addresses you still get a decent deal but isn't that illegal? Since the key sites have really taken off the savings found on them has gotten smaller and smaller.
