* UPDATE ON POWER SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS * It's running absolutely fine on a 750W Corsair RMX PSU, and that's on the highest power draw mode the card has. You don't need a 1KW PSU, just a non-**** 650W will do it, so long as it's got two 8-pins.

Thats a fair summary, AMD didnt hit the ball out the park clearly but its ok overall imo and we know AMD can and has improved performance from launches in the past. Kudos to OCUK for doing a decent price for those immediate buyers.
I'am wondering why any miner thinks to buy Vega especially as this graph says Nvidia is superior to Vega right now. Remember elec cost is part of profit calculations to any mining farm and nvidia wins there

My gameplan, Vega is ok and I will buy but I want an excuse to buy Navi so I'll take the Vega 56 edition this month and probably also buy a monitor giving me the right time frame to switch over into Navi in future

Sad that the only think I'm really excited for now is a console. A bloomin' console. I thought I'd be a PC gamer for life. But I just can't afford the cost. My 2500k is coming to the end of its useful life, my motherboard is dying (slowly), GPU is past it... and just those three components will cost me £1000 to get up to snuff.

£330 GTX1070 Zotac mini (dual fan)
£190 R5 1600 (£230 for i5 7600k)
£100 B350 AM4 (£120 for Z270 board)
£620 ... plus £120 for 16gb DDR4 RAM I guess ... Still, £740 for all 4 components is solid. £865 if you include the cheapest GTX1080 as well (add £60 across the board for Intel option, not that I personally would buy or recommend any 4c/4t CPU again, in 2017, under any circumstances, except for the r3 1200 for a super budget build).
A PS4 Pro or XB1X might seem like a decent alternative, until you factor the monthly/yearly charges for online usage, and the cost of games. PC catches up very quickly in those areas, not even considering all the additional functionality, backwards compatibility, emulators, free-game selection, etc etc.
Your two 390's will probably sell to miners for more than you paid for the vega !!
Plus another £200 for a Win 10 license, as mine is tied to my motherboard.

It does okay up against the MSI 1070 Gaming X as used for the Harware Unboxing tests so non reference models will improve on that.

These days you gotta go with your instincts and grab the deals when they come up :s though sadly black Friday which I'd started to schedule my PC updates around is getting worse and worse for the great deals on that kind of thing.

I know what you mean. I'm selling my 3 month old freesync ultrawide that I bought in anticipation for Vega, but alas its a waste now as my current Nvidia GPU can't hit a constant 60fps to keep things smooth. I'm going to try and recoup as much as I can back from that. Thankfully I never sold my previous 1080p monitor so I'll go back to that to finish off my current PC games.
I recently got a PS4 Pro too and loving it so far, managed to play through Horizon ZD whilst waiting for this farce of a GPU launch to happen and I hadn't used the PC in 2 weeks so I know I can easily give up on PC gaming and go console.
