Polaris launched June 1st last year but cards weren't available til June 29th, and AiB cards a month after that. Hopefully it won't be as long this time...
If the 16GB AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition (£1139) can beat the 12GB Titan Xp (£1099) noticeably then it could do well, but at £1,656 the Liquid-Cooled Frontier Edition is a bit pricy, does it perform that much better than the air cooled one? :S
As I mentioned before AMD'snext Earnings and Investor call is end of June/Start of July. We'll find out a lot more then.
If investors see an inventory build up in the GPU section we'll know if it's a hard launch or paper launch.
Im sure amd said 27th july FE will launch. So does that mean on that date we will find out what date the FE will release?
Or does it means launch is when they frist start selling them?
I'm sure it's when they will be on sale to the public, but I could be wrong.

Can we extrapolate price for gaming RX Vega from ratio Polaris Pro vs RX 480?
Polaris WX is 650, regular 480 was 210 (happy days). So roughly a third of the price
Workstation Vega FE is 1650, RX Vega XT projected 550?
Workstation Vega cut down FE is 1150, regular RX Vega Pro to be 380?

RX Vega will be around 600 (the big one)
On launch day I'd expect them to announce when they're available to buy - same day, next week, next month etc. although it could be leaked earlier.
As JediFragger has pointed out the 480 release date was a month after the launch.
Not saying you're wrong but is there any official confirmation that the launch and release coincide?
The RX launch date isn't confirmed, only a window (30 Jul - 3 Aug) but the FE cards availability will probably give a good indication of the RX's availability as the demand for the RX will be much bigger.

Well we know there's a full fat 64 CU unit, and a cut down version at 56 Compute Units.
So I'd expect the cut down one to cost a nice bit less.

That's not gonna happen.
On release Fury Pro's were £430 for the base model or £440 for the overclocked model,
The Fury X was from £500 to £640 depending on the brand you went for.
That tells us the Vega cards will at least sit at those prices.
I think it's more than likely that we can add £100 or more to each of those.
I'm guessing the full RX Vega card will be at around the £600 mark in the best case scenario.
Whether that's a good deal or not will depend on the performance but I think it's going to be pricey for how it performs.
Have to agree. I suppose it's because they had to commit to it years ago and it wouldn't from a cost point of view be feasible to change it.

HBM not clocked as well as expected. Bad availability. Performance to_be_fixed_in_drivers. The friggin noisy pump. But most of all priced to compete with 980Ti but underwhelming at first.
Chances are if vega is better than a 1080, expect it to be dearer too, if vega is better than a 1080ti then expect it be priced higher.
I still stand by AMD doing a ryzen i.e. comparable performance and being a decent bit cheaper, 1080 performance for around £350/400 and if 1080ti performance then £500-600
The fury x was to be competing with the titan x, nvidia knew what was coming and so released the 980ti. If the 980ti never came out, it would have been just like ryzen when released i.e. people shocked that AMD were charging far far less than intel for comparable performance.

And as a result the fury x was nowhere as impressive then. If it weren't for the 980ti, people would have been screaming about how good the fury x was for bang per buck just as people are with their "cheap" 1080ti's now because they are getting "titan" performance for considerably less.
