Signature GPU Block - Kingpin 3090
$598.00

The Optimus Signature Kingpin block is here! Our first ever Signature GPU block is designed to take advantage of the EVGA Kingpin's extreme performance. We've put everything into this block, and then some.

And you asked for the ultimate block with an active backplate to match, so we're launching the Kingpin block with an active backplate. This is no typical backplate, but a full-size waterblock that weighs more and performs better than typical front blocks.

REAR WATER BLOCK
The rear block is machined from solid copper and covers the entire PCB, not just the center VRAM area. Moreover, we've designed a full-length water channel across the entire backplate. Like our XL Heatsink backplate, the Rear Waterblock features a mega thermal pad to make contact with the entire PCB.

The solid copper rear waterblock is more substantial than even normal front water blocks. This allows the rear waterblock to wick away heat from every area on the back not just the VRAM, but also power delivery and back of the die itself. Like the front block, the areas over the VRAM are smooth and expansive, matching the diffuse heat profile of the VRAM.

DELIVERY ETA: 5-6 weeks

The Kingpin block is in the final stages of testing. For reference, the KP block will surpass our Absolute blocks. Right now, we're tweaking performance and will update with numbers soon.

Additionally, we're working on reducing weight. Our Absolute GPU blocks are heavy, and that's without a solid copper rear water block. This will be a heavy card so plan accordingly.

FINISH OPTIONS:
  • Simply order the nickel version for now -- you'll have color choices when your block ships.
  • We're doing something new for Kingpin. More to come soon :)
  • We're moving away from outside anodizing which can delay blocks by six weeks. This means we're building a finishing center in-house, which will be up and running for the Kingpin blocks.
  • Raw copper is still TBD, because of staining on the copper itself. We've sold blemish copper versions of the other blocks. For Kingpin, we're working on a new process but we are unsure at this time if it will be ready for production.

SIGNATURE KINGPIN BLOCK DETAILS:
  • Full front coverage with machined block over power delivery
  • NV Link Compatible with correct cutouts for bridge
  • Stock KP OLED mounts to the backplate
  • Full access to additional IO
  • DIP switches are hidden under backplate (switch before mounting)
ACTIVE BACKPLATE:
  • Full coverage active backplate
  • Backplate is 100% copper
  • Full coverage Fujipoly thermal pads
  • Notches for ITX and motherboards with tight DIMMs

PRICE BREAKDOWN:
  • Signature Kingpin GPU Waterblock - Raw Copper: $299
  • Kingpin GPU Waterblock - Nickel Finish: +$60
  • Kingpin GPU Backplate - Slim: +$59
  • Kingpin GPU Backplate - XL Heatsink: +$89
  • Kingpin GPU Rear Waterblock - Raw Copper: +$199
  • Backplate Nickel Plating: +$40

lol $600 for a gpu block, for a card that is impossible to find anyway
Not really impossible, they can be found from people that purchased them and regret buying them and if you know where to look they are up for sale at what they paid for them and even less sometimes because they state the unit has bad coil whine or they damaged the original cooler when trying to add another cooler. After reading all the complaints on the EVGA forums about the KingPins, FTW3 and other models this generation, I wouldn't risk even half price on one. They can keep them.

The waterblock looks really nice but no chance is it worth $600 and I don't watercool anyways, just thought Kaap would get a kick out of it and have a little laugh at the silly price too.

Absolutely no point buying a Kingpin and fitting a waterblock.

The cards are sold as being suitable for LN2 work.

Having said that Vince (Kingpin) has probably already grabbed all the best cores which makes the LN2 part a bit pointless.

Hi to all!
Does anyone has an ups with your system?
I´m having some troubles using it alongside my RTX cards.

Which ups (uninterruptible power supply) are you using model and make ? Also if you know the power rating . If you mean PSU power supply unit then state what you are using if different from your signature.

Thank you for the quick response @Purgatory !
I think I found a workaround.
System: AMD Threadripper 3970x ¦ ASRock TRX40 Taichi ¦ Corsair 2666 128 mb RAM ¦ PNY RTX 3090 RTL8 X2 ¦ Thermaltake View 51 case ¦ 1650 Silverstone psu
Software: Windows 10 ¦ Ubuntu ¦ Upsilon 2000 (For the UPS)
UPS: CDP R-Smart 2010 (https://www.cdpenergy.com/productdetails.asp?prd=MTAy&prdn=Ui1TTUFSVCAyMDEw&mf=cHJvdGVjdGlvbg)

Problems: RTX cards not recognized by Windows

Solution: At least for me,
1. Uninstall the Upsilon software (This came for on-line supervision of the power energy).
2. Uninstall Nvidia Drivers
3. Remove all traces from the Nvidia installation (Disconnect from internet if necessary ).
5. Reboot and verify that the card is still as regular card (Not the RTX).
6. Unplug the usb cable from the ups to the computer.
6. Install again all Nvidia drivers again.
7. Reboot and check.
8. Forget to use the Upsilon software.

Now everything worked again.

Hope this helps for further users!

Anyone with an EVGA XC3 (or any other AIB) what is your core boosting to? I've seen the 3090 FE sit happily at 1900Mhz, while a friend I play online with and his sits at 2000MHz at 0.925V. Mine however won't get above 1800Mhz even with the power limit at max

What game, settings, rtx, res, gpu temps, resizeable bar?

I've noticed the core clocks can vary wildly from game to game, depending what sort of load is on the card, even when it's 'working' at 99%.

Btw, I don't have an evga 3090, just the founders edition.

Port Royale Benchmark
I've seen videos and most hit 2000Mhz. My 3090FE also hits 1950 easily but this isn't getting anywhere near

Nice one. I've also noticed that Nvidia's power settings don't allow the core boost to maximum unless it's set to maximum! I would expect the Normal setting to not only downclock when not needed, but also to hit maximum when required. Shame, as we don't need the GPU running at max all the time.

Weird how this didn't affect the FE however.

Anyone with the EVGA XC3 3090, how are your temps? Mine hits 75°C pretty quick even with the fans ramping up to 70%. Seems a tad hot to me but thought I would see what others are getting
