You missed a trick. You could squeeze in two more fans at the top of your case.

I was thinking the same and debating orientation. I think exhaust would be best. I would definitely put 2 more fans up there.

Then, I would change them all for black fans. Looks like some serious airflow in that small case though!

No need to remove the drivers if you staying with Nvidia, the drivers are all the same anyway. When I switched from the 2080 Ti to the 3090 I just shutdown, removed old card, poped new in one and straight into windows, windows setup the card using the same driver anyway, even kept all my old driver settings and I was up and running.

i did the same couldn't get a 3080 for love nor money and had carrying on saving so 2 days ago a 3090FE came up and just though go for it, its a beast weights a ton and is massive and beautiful and well built GPU your going to love it when it arrives.
Mines in a Lian Li O11Dynamic XL black with a AMD 5600x for now but will be 5900x later in the year.

Also get a vacuum in there I can see lots of dust on the rear fan!!

After I took this picture, I cleaned up the dust on the rear fan and rerouted some cables to make it neater.

I was considering two fans at the top but I worry about a slight negative pressure and loads of extra dust in my system.. weirdly enough I quite like the stock Noctua colour in their own weird way.

I posted a random ghetto mod on my 3090FE in another post I made and thought people may be interested. Someone discussed deshrouding my 3090FE instead of water to help with noise levels, sadly that isn't really possible, but this gave me the idea of just strapping the Noctua fans I have to my GPU and making sure the air flowed in the same direction.

I made a bit of a hacky mod and attached the fans to the motherboard header and linked it to GPU temperature and maxed them out at around 1200RPM, then turned the FE fans down to 30%.

Temps have dropped drastically and the card is now sitting at around 60C under heavy load and the system is basically silent, not terrible for a couple of fans I had lying around anyway... Gives me chance to consider the watercooling properly and potentially a different case.

I approve of the airflow, and the dedication to the Noctua fans..

Well after ordering the Palit Gamerock OC, I found a FE in stock somewhere at MSRP so decided to take the cheaper route and go for that. Somehow it still arrived before the Palit, which will have to go back when it arrives anyway.

It's a beast! Just need to wait for my PSU to arrive to fit it now!

Really don’t think you’ll be disappointed with it.

Never had an FE model before as I’m not a fan of the traditional noisy blowers they used but the 3090FE practically purrs, least it does in my 750D.

I can't see me being disappointed with it, there's no perceptible increase in noise levels at idle - that's when I really care about noise as I also work on the machine.

I managed to answer the question of whether it would fit in my Fractal Define C. I thought I might have to move/remove the front fan but it's all good, just

It's a bit annoying that the adapter cable is so short, it means there's no chance of routing the cable properly. I've ordered a 12pin cable from Corsair but I couldn't believe the cost - at £25, it's almost 25% the cost of the entire PSU

I went for a 750D on my last build and I’ve just bought another for my next one. Think I’m a bit partial to bigger cases now.

I have a Corsair 900D case and it's far too huge. I need to find something I like. I'm not a big fan of windowed case, but I need something suitable for the behemoth that is the 3090!

I do need to work out the best settings for Cyberpunk. It looks incredible with all of the ray tracing on, but I'm not sure where the cut-offs on performance lie.

I've been playing Cyberpunk on the default settings this evening, I think it was called Studio? Full RT etc. - doesn't seem to drop under 60fps at 3440x1440.

The real test for me will be Asetto Corsa Competizione on 3x 1440p - more pixels than 4k

One of the things that strikes me is the heat that comes off it. Air coming from the case while playing is noticably hot, it even smells hot! I don't know if a bigger case would help here?

Well despite saying I wasn't going to get a 3090, the lack of 3080's (except at scalpers prices), and the delay of the 3080ti (which I hoped to get instead for the extra memory) pushed me into getting a 3090fe when they dropped today. Now I have to completely re-configure my case to get it to fit, as it's too long with the drive cage in place. While I'm doing that I might look at replacing one or more of the case fans, and re-do the CPU thermal paste as it runs slightly hot.

So an expensive graphics upgrade now turns into a PC re-build

Got an 3090FE from UK retailer link to from Nvidia Store, should be here on the 18th (could have taken earlier but got some work to do to PC first so not a big rush.

Up until this morning, a competitor supplying 3090FEs for Nvidia site seemed to have them instock permanently on a hidden link that seemed to be trickle fed from the nvidia site, they seem to be out of stock now so I guess that's them depleted now.

They were in stock for a fair few hours, I ordered a few hours into it and assumed I was late / they’d screwed up on the stock system. Got positive confirmation of picking and shipping this morning though so guessing it was a large batch.
