The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Aye, I think it was about the halfway mark it stepped up.

Also whilst I'm here, Zavvi have some more nice anime deals including things like Durrrarra Blu for £20, Rahzephon (DVD) £12, Bebop Blu-ray £18

Just finished watching Steins Gate... was rather good :) Thought some of the dialogue at times were very very well written (obviously determined via English subs :P)

Would anyone recommend an anime with good fights, no futuristic scenery (preferably medieval times)... basically looking for a fantasy anime. :p

I'm tired of animes which are happening inside a 'game' such as SAO, I'm still looking through MAL. But thought it would be worth asking here too, if you people have any other recommendations that don't match the description share them out... I don't just watch one type of anime. :)

Berserk if you haven't seen/read that already. Probably in my top 2 favourite manga series of all time. Basically set in the medieval times at the start, and progresses to fantasy with monsters and (some) magic later on.

The manga is by far better though (and where most of the great fights happen).

Haven't seen it, I don't read manga. I only watch anime, I like the fights from Tokyo Ghoul. Especially
Kaneki vs Jason
:D

I would still definitely recommend it.

There's an old 26 episode series, and then there's a newer trilogy of movies (both of which cover about volumes 1-13 of the manga). I kind of prefer the first series over the newer movies, because the movies used a lot of 3D animation, and it looks a little jarring at times. It gets better in the later movies, but I still prefer 2D animation over 3D for anime.

Watching Stein Gate, 7 eps in....what on earth is this about?

Still no antagonist, just a bunch of geeks hypothesising time travel?

one punch man is hilarious. havent laughed this much in ages. :)

I bought all the English translated mangas, and I stopped buying/reading manga properly about 8 years ago. I love comedy mangas where the jokes are almost so obvious that they hit you like a sledgehammer (e.g. Cromartie High School), and Murata makes all the fights look amazing. It seems like OPM is blowing up pretty big thanks to the anime, which is good news.

I also heard that ONE's other series Mob Psycho 100 is getting an anime version done by Bones. I've never read, but apparently it's good too.

My Anime list for the last year is quite small as I've not been buying a great deal of discs (too little space, too much space taken up with discs).

At a rough glance from oldest to newest it's
Dusk maiden of Amnesia
EF collection (memories and melodies)
Wings of Honemaese (sp?) collectors edition
Nadia Secret of Blue Water, blu-ray set
The Tale of Princess Kagura
Space Dandy Set 2
Elfen Lied, collectors BD set (the steelbook)
Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie:3 BD
Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movies: 1 & 2 BD
Sankya undying love (sp?)
Baccano! LE BD set

I think this year is the least number of Anime discs I've bought in 12 years, partly because I haven't had time to watch much anime, partly because I've been running low on space, and partly because I've not seen a massive amount that has got me excited this year that is new.

I have somehow ended up buying a couple of big manga sets and related books though.

Can't say I've bought much in the last year due to saving up for Japan next April. I did get some for Christmas but I'll post that next weekend after my birthday like normal.
