The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Outlaw Star is an older one, but still fun (I watched it again when I got the set a while back) and what I still contend is one of the most soothing ending songs of any anime.
It also has some lovely art during the end credits by a guy who also did classic Science Fiction covers for the Japanese (and some made it to the UK/US*), apparently the end art is meant to be from other stories by the writer behind the original Outlaw Star stories set in the same universe (of which the only other one to be made into an anime was Angel Links).

*I was surprised when I looked up his work to find several bits I recognised from books on my shelves (one of my favourite Isaac Asimov book covers included).

Yesterdays MVM Christmas deal was Log Horizon, seasons 1 & 2 bundle on BD or DVD ... not bad for £40 for both seasons on BD.
Todays offer is "Rozen Maiden & Traumend Bundle [Contains Series, Ouverture & Zuruckspulen]" on DVD ... think I've got too much Rozen Maiden already to justify this on DVD.

AlltheAnime is of course at the blind box stage ...

The Blu-ray Collector's Edition Mystery Box
You get 7 mystery Blu-ray Ltd Collector's Edition sets
(plus some bonus goodies) for only £39.99

Limited to 500 pieces. Contains items "worth over £360"

And an equivalent item for DVD.
I must admit to loading the ATA page up at 9am and refreshihng several times (seeing yesterdays offers go - i think noein was last to drop off), then the DVD box go up, followed by the BD one.

I ordered the blu-ray box as it only needs one or two of the 7 items to be things i'm interested in or haven't got to break even and last years box was well worth.

So far the anime offers have ended up with me buying.
Giovanni's Island Collectors edition blu-ray £10
absolute duo blu-ray £15
tenchi muyo ova collectors edtion blu-ray £20 (anime-on-line offer).
rage of bahamut collectors edition blu-ray £15
009 Re:Cyborg ltd edition blu-ray £5
Noein Blu-ray collection £5
mystery box £40

So rather more than I'd hoped, but rather less than I feared, or could easily have spent (I could easily have spent another £100+ but I'd set myself a budget).

Good luck, that's not too expensive a punt for BDs, and quite a long amount of running time! Hopefully its not all awful!
That was my thinking, I don't tend to buy too many of MVM's BD's as they rarely drop in price (I've got a few I've kept an eye on), so if only one of them is something I like I'll probably come out even :)
It probably helps that when it comes to anime I'll give virtually anything a go.

i forgot to say they're also doing a DVD version with the same titles for £25.

[edit]
I've spent a few minutes going through their catalogue and at a guess it'll be five titles from this selection (I'm going by it being a 12 classification at most as that's what they've listed, and no repeats from earlier offers)
Ignore the Blu-ray notes, I was cut and pasting and it said both BD and DVD sets would contain the same titles just different format

Aye I forgot to say that was the other reason I discounted them:)

Looking at the list of possibles (or at least what I think are possibles), I've only got about 3 of them on BD, and most of them not at all :)

I would have got the Girls und panzer offer yesterday but I've already got everything bar one of the OVA's already (I only got the film the other week).

Aye their order confirmation emails are frequently flakey in my experience, fortunately for my order tracking I tend to note down anything I've ordered in an excel spreadsheet (title, store, price, date ordered, date shipped, date received). Mind you I started doing that because my memory is really bad at times and I have made expensive mistakes.

[edit at 17:31]
Just received shipping confirmation of my ATA mystery box :)
Which is slightly odd as that was ordered after a couple of my other items:)

My ATA box hasn't arrived yet :(

That list isn't bad, I've not got Free, Tokyo Marble, Blood Blockade or Your Lie in April and was looking at 3 of those 4 to buy :)

Eden of the East is great, and both Samurai Flamenco and Tiger & Bunny are fun.

My day 9 order shipped a few minutes ago, and I got a message to say my day 11 one won't ship until after Christmas (which is understandable given how busy they seem to have been).

I'm hoping the mystery box will arrive tomorrow :)

Also on a completely unrelated note, I've almost finished watching Eureka 7 which does look a lot better on Blu-ray than my old Beez set did :)
I'm probably going to watch Tokyo Godfathers once I finish it.

I just had a rather tired/harassed looking Royal Mail guy drop 3 packages round for me.

Both mystery boxes (the ATA one had some poster type things as well and was rather large), and my day 9 order :)

Between them I should have enough to keep me going for a few weeks:D

Anyone still waiting on any of their bits from the all the anime sale? (one of my day 5 orders hasn't shipped).
Also did anyone pre-order the Silent Voice deal with the posters? (I'm a bit surprised they haven't updated the poster situation).

And a head's up that Anime on line is doing a code to give you 50% off the RRP on Blu-rays this week, if you've already got an existing pre-order apparently if you email them they'll refund the difference :) (I'll probably give them an email, as I've got a couple which equates to around £25 if they do the refund).

I've been watching a few bits the last couple of weeks, Rage of Behamut which was good and felt a little like Coboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo, and Blood Blockade Battlefront which was very fun and reminded me a lot of Baccano at times.

Awesome, hopefully they've nearly cleared the backlog:)

I'm currently watching series 3 of about 12 I bought last month and just had to buy a new blu-ray player (zoom had a deal on a samsung with 10 films for £65), as my secondary one died (disc doesn't appear to spin up) and the spare from the other room is showing signs of dodgy memory. with odd picture breakup once it's warmed up.
I'll try and get non playing one working again, as if it's just a belt it should be replaceable and can then sit as a spare.

I've been watching The Ancient Magus Bride and so far I'm loving it, I caught up to episode 13 last night which ended on a bit of a cliff hanger.

I watched Re-Kan over the last week which was fun even if it didn't fully grasp my attention at times (probably not helped by it being subbed and I've been quite under the weather and unable to concentrate properly).

I'm going to start watching Your Lie in April tomorrow at a guess, as I got part 1 in the ATA box, and picked up the second volume just after Christmas :)

That sounds a bit like I (very vaguely) remember the 90's OVA, but it's been nearly 20 years since I saw it, and as it's anime you can never tell (the number of series I've where I was sure there would a second season and there wasn't, and ones where I was surprised by a second season is quite large now :)).

I received my Silent Voice posters from ATA yesterday which was nice :)

I've also just finished Absolute Duo which was fun, fairly standard fare but fun (and the bunny teacher was pretty amusing:)), and started watching Tenchi Muyo on blu-ray which is a blast from the past, although the audio in places is really showing it's age (the quality is in places quite bad compared to modern stuff that was recorded straight to high quality digital audio using modern mic's etc).

I started "your Lie in April" a few hours ago and so far I'm up to episode 6 :)
It's the first series in a while to get me to do a 6 episode run without a break, which surprises me a little as it's setting is not one that I would have thought could get my attention to that extent :)
Mind you something similar happened with Princess Nine the first time I watched that:) (I think I ended up watching 9 episodes when I'd meant to go to bed after 2).

I've been watching more of Your Lie in April and really enjoying it, I'm up to episode 18 I think and I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to the end or not.

I guessed it was going to be a sad anime/ending very early on with Koari's visit to the hospital in about episode 2 where it didn't show her go in/what went on), I remember Clannad, Air, Kanon and others...

I finished it about 30 minutes ago and it's probably one of the best anime I've seen in a while, it hit me harder than Clannad and After Story did.
The last few episodes were a bit of a roller coaster, and left me with a bit of something in my eye.
I think the last anime that had that level of effect was Grave of the Fireflies,
.

My only complaint with the UK discs is that the op/end songs are not subtitled which is annoying as they were very good.

I think I'm going to try and watch something silly, funny and lighthearted next, possibly Kill me Baby.
