The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Those sorts of shows can be a bit draining.

Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest is one I'd recommend if you enjoyed RE:Zero and Shield Hero, the protag' is betrayed and put into an awful situation after being taken to another world.

Oh I've seen that one, I wouldn't put that in the same tier as the other 2 ... that's getting a bit more into the kinda trashy isekai grouping ...

I've not hit up this season much, the amount of browser tabs I've got open of shows to check out keeps on growing, haha ... but the one with 100 in the title where the dude gets the job of "farmer" despite the other ones being warrior and wizard or something looks like it might be alright.

I enjoyed it, it wasn't the best in the world but it was nice to see an anime like that where the MC snaps and just doesn't take anyone's crap.

The worst Isekai I saw in terms of being depressing I forget the name of, I dropped it part way through but it was the most horrifically depressing thing I'd seen in years. A bunch of young kids get transported to a new world where they can 'level up' but the mortality rate is extremely high and they all end up dying horribly.

There was another about a bunch of kids who pilot a giant mech that was similar.

The 'farmer' one seems familiar from some of the manga/webcomics I've read but I'm not entirely sure if I've seen an animated version.

What's the name of this one please as it sounds interesting.

I find both shows kinda unrelenting, you just want stuff to go alright for a bit to give yourself a breather, but the shield one just really drained me ... I think when it was out last time I had to watch something super easy going afterwards to recover, might have been that kaguya-sama one, hard to remember as it was a year ago I think.

Yeah I think that it's good to have a mix of content. I really enjoyed theory crafting and guessing at where attack on titan was heading, but it was a complicated story with lots of twists.

Makes you appreciate watching something like bofuri where you can just switch the brain off a bit!

Hmmm, might have been Hai to Genso no Gurimugaru though the iseaki nature of that isn't ever blatantly stated (but sometimes they talk amongst themselves and mention things like "games" and then they're all like, wait, what's a game, and stuff) ... that one is actually one of my favourites, I found it more gritty than depressing, it's a bit like goblin slayer in my book ... though folks do end up dying it never stressed me in the way the shield hero one did ... but they don't all die so it's probably not the one you're talking about.

I think others have you covered but it's 100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru

Genso no Gurimugaru was really different and good wish they made a second series. Goblin Slayer and Shield Hero are two of my fave animes although Shield Hero annoyed me abit towards the end:
When they showed him being cleared of all crimes the other heroes treated better but next episode and ones after that they still don't trust him and refuse to work with him also calling him a cheater despite the fact they were given everything. Rant over :p

Watching Kanojo, Okarishimasu (Rent-A-Girlfriend), only 3 episodes in. On the surface it is lame and i mean it is lame but it is quite watchable and I am enjoying it more than most Shonen.

I finished this one the other day. It wasn't my fav. Chizaru was great but most of the rest of the characters were various degrees of stupid, and a lot of the scenarios they were in were contrived to the max!

Yeah, I watched that last season, and was thoroughly annoyed throughout at the MC (and some of the characters), they announced a second season I think, but I think I'll have the good sense to avoid it next time around.
