The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Finished it. It's okay but a little short. Lead protagonist is a moron through and through..........the girls are the best characters although most of them don't behalf realistically. But he did pick the best one though.

Completely agree.

Chizaru is the obvious choice as she is basically perfect, Ruka is too clingy (but I don't think that Kazuya really gave her any chance at all), Sumi was the one I was talking about as being my 2nd fav (the shy one).

Mami is the one you love to hate, but without her I think it would be boring as she keeps you on your toes.

It's a shame that Kazuya hasn't really developed/grown at all in the episodes so far.

Yeah, Sumi basically only had 1 episode, the backstory for Ruka wasn't developed enough, I felt they could have explored that more, he didn't even see it from her side and gave her a proper chance. He just ghosted her the entire time.

Someone must have read the Manga, I hope he grows up a bit but I feel like that won't happen until the last episode when he has some epiphany.

Question for you guys :)
Random i know but last night i was remembering watching a fansub of Love Hina from back in the day and it was featuring a guy dressed like Neo from the Matrix at the start of every episode.(Their signature ?)Anyone know which group was responsible for this?Been bugging me all evening

What else you watching @Raymond Lin - my currently watching list is: Monogatari, Konosuba, Railgun, RE:Zero (starting imminently).

Errrrr, I started a few but keep getting bored with them.

I watched some dragon slayer thing on Netflix last week, short 1 season 10 episode thing. Binged that in an afternoon.

I also started Fire Force, I watched 2 episodes, not sure if i will continue. I also watched 1 and a half season of Psycho Pass, half way through Coyboy Bebop. I also watched ep 1 of Decadance and a few ep into Horadora (? I think that's the name, the one with the guy with lizard head and set in a magical world). None of them have really grabbed me so far. I might watch Re: Zero.

I tried Cowboy Bebop but I just don't think it was for me, although people rave about it a lot.

RE:Zero is meant to be really good so one I'm certainly looking forward to trying.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Monogatari as well, it's kind of pretentious at times, but it knows it. There is quite a bit of fan service in it as well, but despite that it's still really good in my opinion.

I think at the moment I am in the mood for something that is more light hearted, I watched a few episode of some girls starting a band in a school and what I found most interesting in that show is their attention of detail to the instruments. The detail, the fretboard placement of fingers and even the pricing they have for a Les Paul that one girl wanted to buy. It is right there in the ballpark of real world prices.

Oh, I also watched 2 seasons of haikyuu, I thought that was quite good!

Dorohedoro

It took me a bit to get into that one but ultimately I really liked it.

That's the one!

You're thinking of K-ON for the music one.

It's really popular but I found it a bit slow, and it was less about the music and more about afternoon tea and cakes.

Everyone has different tastes though, so I'd encourage you to form your own opinions :)

That's the one, I am terrible with names for anime! Yeah, it's lighthearted and basically stress free which was why I like it.

I also watched one of the Fate, Not unlimited Bladeworks, but the one with one of the main protagonist being an orphant and trained by an assassin woman who got killed by killer bees on a plane.

Not seen any of the Fate series myself, although I have Fate Zero on my list for sometime in the future.

It's meant to be watchable standalone, but time will tell!

I once walked into the 8th floor of a department store in Tokyo and they had 2 life size Saber (it's one of the characters), think your 1/8th figurine but life size in every way but real fabric for clothing.

I bet Tokyo was amazing. I don't think I'd like to live in Japan but visiting it must be fantastic.

It was/is, I love it. I walked around so much, been to so many places, watched so many YouTube videos that I know it better than London!

Re Anime, I always allocate a day minimum of going to Akihabara, and a day isn't enough. I have spent 2hrs in a single store looking at figures yet not buying any because of pure choice overload. It's not even about cost (even though it can be hundreds for one, and they are not cheaper than Amazon.jp prices a lot of the times as like any physical store, they have rent to pay), it's the suitcase size and they are massive!

I am not sure I want to live there though, they have a lot of red tape, forms for everything, there are a lot of rules that you wouldn't think would ever be a thing.

1 - Want to buy a car? You need a car parking space, the police will come measure its size before your sale can be finalised
2 - Want to leave more than a few weeks from your apartment? You need permission.
3 - Take rubbish out, there are like a dozen kind of trash, you need to sort and need to take them out the correct day.
4 - Want to throw something large out a suitcase, you need to pay for it to be collected and booked in advance
5 - You no longer can get the Japan Rail Pass!
6 - The lack of Japanese will really hamper your chances getting a job, that is if you want to get into the Japanese working environment, which is more about showing up, staying later than your boss than actual quality of work!
7 - Bread...Japanese bread are more like Brioche, all of it, they don't really make wholemeal or seeded loaf or french stick. Vegetables and cheese are insanely expensive. Tofu is cheap though!

A million other thing, but there are also the good side like delivery will turn up on time, transport are on time, people are mostly very polite and helpful, there are a TON to do other than pubs. There are arcardes, karaoke, 2 Disney parks, USJ. The food is great, you can get drunk really cheap, Konbinis are fantastic etc.

Anyway, anime...

These people standing around on the phone, playing Pokemon Go!

Stores like these are the best, sells 2nd hand figures. You can see them all assembled and they are almost always great condition.

i really wanted this. :D

There are so many little things, like one time I was in Kyoto and saw 3 teenagers wearing those Japanese school uniform, you know the black ones with long sleeves and high collar. I freaked out and thought “that’s just like the anime!!!!” Of course it quickly followed by “No, the anime is copying real life you twerp!”. Or when I was watching that episode last night when Sumi had that practice date, I think they went to Harijuku, they went to a crepe place and had one...I thought to myself....I had that!

Or physically going to real life locations, basically, a great place for a few weeks for some geeky geekdom.

Haha is that Inosuke from Demon Slayer there @Raymond Lin?

Yeah a long time ago I wanted to go and live there, but current me knows it wouldn't be a good idea to do it. I am happy to just admire the culture from afar :)

Your Name was such a good movie, have you seen the one before it, Garden of Words? the story isn't as good but the visuals are fantastic on it. I still need to watch the one he did after it, Weathering with You (it's on my list).

Apparently modern Japan has often been influenced by anime rather than the other way around, so a lot of architecture and stuff came out of concept work in anime/manga, which is pretty interesting if true. I suspect like you said a lot is drawn from reality back the other way.

Yup!, It's Inosuke from Demon Slayer!

Yup, seen Garden of Words, that garden is real too but I’ve never been (It's Shinjuku Gyoen). I've also seen Weathering with You. Your Name still his best work. I’ve been to an exhibition of his though. It was all last minute, it was like the day before last that I leave.

I was taking the metro somewhere and got out the wrong stop, saw a poster that says Makoto Shinaki Exhibition at the Tokyo Exhibition Hall? I looked at the date, looked at the time....ooh, it's today, googled where it was, ooooh I am only 20mins away, ooo I have time today! Off I went. They had original notebooks, his desk with his PC that he built Voice of a Distant Star on.
