The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Wow just finished 86 what a incredible show. Easily one of my top 5 anime I have ever watched. Must admit had to hold back the tears.

Yup an absolute banger of a show and at the end of season 1 I just happened to be peeling loads of onions.....honest

I believe its still ongoing as a manga and there is already enough material for a season 2. Given how popular its been, it would be mental to not do another.

i think it was episode 22 when Shinei met the major after the battle and they didnt do the reunion i nearly flipped a table :D! So happy they got it in the end though

Same I was screaming get out the bloody cockpit already. Then when it didn't happen I was like heavens sake they really dragging it out until next season. Like you relieved at the end and a real emotional moment.

Moved onto The Rising of the Shield Hero. Pretty good so far.

I watched 3 eps of new Shield Hero S2 and it had me questioning why because nothing happened and I was very disappointed vs how much fun I had with Season 1 on the whole. I dropped it at that point.

Stuff I'm watching/enjoying this season:

Spy x Family (top of the season I think)
Ya Boy Kongming (really good anime and good production values)
Skeleton Knight in another World (rape scene warning on this one but if you can overlook that, it's actually pretty good)
Executioner and her Way of Life (surprised me with how good this has been so far, exceeded my expectations at least)
Trapped in a Dating Sim (art is kinda basic, probably the most basic out of this list)

Stuff I'm continuing this season:

Kaguya Sama (more Kaguya what's not to like?)
Demon Girl Next Door (this is an easy going slice of life thing)

Stuff I plan to watch but haven't started yet:

Summertime Render (this looks really good but it's on Disney+ for some reason so is a little under the radar)
Birdie Wing (looks a bit trash but has been described as a bit like Happy Gilmore golf style so will go in with low expectations)
Tomodachi Game
Ao Ashi (football one, wanted to try it out).
Ascendance of a Bookworm S2

Ascendance of a bookworm S2
Shield Hero S2
(not liking it but will stick with it)
Deaimonm: Recipe for happiness (very nice show and has Usagi Drop vibes but without the questionable manga ending of Usagi Drop....)

The Dawn of the Witch
Kaguya-sama
(no reason needed!)
Aharen san is indecipherable
Science fell in love, so i tried to prove it S2
Spy X Family
A Couple of Cuckoos
Shikimoris not just a cutie
Ya boy Kongming
(Absolute banger)
Komi San cant commuicate S2
Executioners and her way of life

I also need to finish the Devil is a part timer before S2 comes out in july

Ah yes I forgot about Bookworm, that was also in my list to continue! :)

You have a few extra on me but I was going to see if I wanted more stragglers at the end of the season.

Ended up reading 116 Chapters of yofukashi no uta (Call of the night) today.

The anime comes out in July and been keeping my on this and decided to read some of the manga which ended up in a binge session. Think i've had the op song for this on loop most of the day while reading. Apparently when the author started drawing the manga he asked Creepy Nuts if he could use their song name as the title and they gave him the ok. Now its got an anime adaptation he decided to use the song as the op.

Finally got round to starting to watch Sword Art Online Alicization War of the Underworld *takes a deep breath*, and it looks like the disk two of the first set might have an issue with my Samsung BD player as it gives a "disc does not meet specification" message (or something very similar) when I put it in, it does however work fine in my Sony BDP360.
I'll try it in the Panasonic, and again in the Samsung as I've got a feeling I had something similar a while back with disc 2 of a set and powering the player down or putting another title in between discs 1 and 2 sorted it.

I just saw the ATA pre-orders/licence announcements for the month at it's looking good:)

They've got A Victorian Romance Emma season 2 up for pre-order now (at the discount price), next week is Violet Evergarden the movie, then El-Hazard Alternate world the week after, and they've announced Irresponsible Captain Tylor which will be in two sets (third time of getting it for me).

On the one hand I love the selection ATA are putting out, and their LE/CE versions are always good, but on the other hand it's hard to resist buying them:p

As to watching, continuing with SOA War of the Underworld, which I'm enjoying but only managing an episode or two a day if that :(
Also watching on streaming Spy X Family which is fun and Anya is adorable:) (especially as she's the only one who knows everything that's going on in the "family") , Skeleton Knight which is quite fun so far but a little over reliant on the tropes, and A Couple of Cuckoos which i'm enjoying but it feels a little weak.

I saw Gigguk mentioned that on one of his videos, looked interesting :)

Shield hero S2 is so pants

Yep, I quit after 3-4 episodes. I think season 1 was peak Shield Hero with the revenge stuff.

I really liked SAO despite it being something a lot of people didn't seem to enjoy, the new seasons really kicked up the art quality a gear as well. A couple of questionable scenes laced in with it though, like unnecessary ones if you know what I mean?

My 10 year old daughter loves anime. Any suggestions on what shelves/books/games I can recommend to her?

I mainly watch it, it's hard to make recommendations though for someone that young given anime can often have fan service or mature themes even in shows you may not expect to find it in.

I assume you mean Series instead of Shelves?

I'd very much struggle to throw recs in for someone who is 10 years old.

General updates:

Still watching same shows I was in my previous post but I'd add that I've caught up with Birdie Wing and Tomodachi Game. Birdie Wing in particular is really entertaining I'd rec it.

From next season I've got some on my to watch list already:

Devil is a Part Timer S2
Rent a Girlfriend S2
Overlord S4
Call of the Night
Isekai Ojisan

On my probably will watch list:

Made in Abyss S2 (I really could do with re-watching S1 to see if I was still meh on it).
Classroom of the Elite S2 (S1 was just OK in my book).

That's it so far I think, so it's largely a season of sequels for me.
