The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

If you happen to find them, could you check to see if my marbles are there as well?
I seem to have misplaced them...;)
I'm constantly forgetting what I've watched dubbed or subbed:p

Talking of watching stuff, I've been watching Diamond Daydreams which is proving to be very enjoyable and a bit different to most stuff I've been watching recently (it's a little like Emma, Maria, A*** and the like in that regard).

Don't talk about backlogs, my anime backlog alone is current at
Utena Set 3, Bebop Remix, School Rumble S2 (and OVA's), Sorcerer Hunters, FMP: Fumoffu, Whisper & Arriety Blu.

That's before I even glance at my LA backlog (about 10 films, and two TV series at least).

I watched Whisper of the Heart on Blu last night, which was really good and a nice transer.
Although I'm not sure if there is an audo glitch when Shizuku is in the library, and thinking if the name on the book might be the boy she bumped into (at around 30 minutes).

It seems to be the same on the dvd in the set, but i can't remember if on the older DVD release.

I got my copies for FMP from Amazon.com for the original, and TRSI for Fumofuu.
IIRC amazon were doing the first seies for about £17 a few months back

I've no idea what the gif is from, but it looks a little brutal:p

About the only other wolf anime that instantly springs to mind is Princess Mononoke which has some huge wolves.
However it's not a "wolf" anime in the same way as Wolf's Rain.

It's slightly odd, but (from memory) the Japanese don't seem to cover wolf/werewolf stuff anything like as much as Western fiction does, I think because they've got plenty of other beasties to choose from:)

memyselfandi

That's shorter than I remember :)
Mind you I've never seen it, as it was too long for me to face (I may try and get it sometime soon though).
Although I say that as someone who got all of Ranma 1/2 when it was released in the budget sets.

Bleh, was all prepared to watch some more stuff this evening and my av amp seems to have gone pop which is a good way to sour your mood heh

:(
Do you know if it's repairable or is it likely to be terminal?

That's pretty sucky for such an expensive amp :(

Although if it is the power supply, hopefully it'll be a board that can be repaired/replaced on it's own without having to remove the main board.
From the sounds of it, my gut reaction would be either something overheating, or a couple of dodgy capacitors (I have had a pair of fairly expensive Dell monitors, and a motherboard die due to caps going bad and they had similar symptoms from memory - about £2 worth of caps saved the monitors).

I've been quietly watching School Rumble S2 this week, which I'm enjoying/getting more than I did S1, I'm not sure quite why though (it's either I'm in a more receptive mood for it, or because I know the characters now).

I'm probably going to aim to rewatch the Undines again soon :)
At the moment I can't watch much with subs as my aging cheapy DVD player is going odd on subtitles (I suspect the video memory used for the subtitle overlays is overheating/failing as only the subs are affected but they glitch), so I've just ordered a cheapish Phillips blu-ray player for £60 as I know I can make it DVD region free easily enough :p

I'm currently watching Utena set 3 which is fun, but only managing about 2 episodes a day (largely because by the time I get to sit down alone, I'm looking and sounding like an extra from The Walking Dead).

I'd forgotten S&W was getting a UK release.

the big question is, do I triple dip on the first season?
I love the series and want to support the release, but I've already got it on DVD and Blu.

My new cheapy blu-ray player arrived this morning (I've got two in my bedroom now, the new one is mainly for DVD's*), which means I've got to tidy up the cabling behind the TV tonight.
Joy.
At least I'm now down to just one device using Scart leads, and I've finally got an excuse to properly tie up the cables (velcro make a "self gripping cable tie" roll that you cut to size**), and replace the overly long network cables with the shorter ones I've had sat on the side for months.

*It's about £40 for a half decent DVD player I can make region free, or £60 for the Phillips blu-ray which is easy to make region free for DVD's.

**I bought a 5 metre roll of that, and 100 of the Velcro ties last year and they are a joy to use compared to normal cable ties (and because they're not branded for computer cabling, but plain black, cheap).

Aye, that's sort of part of the reason I want to try and support the UK industry in the hope they'll do more, but sooner in the future.

I never would have thought Clannad would see a UK release at all, likewise Spice and Wolf.

That is far too tidy....

I would love to have the space to have a dedicated media storage/display room, especially given how well Billy's work for displaying DVD's, books and models (at the moment my DVD's are mainly stored for maximum efficiency).

I'm still slowly working through Utena, mainly because it's subbed and I'm barely managing 2 episodes a night of sub viewing.

I finally finished Utena TV last night, which had a bit of a surprise, but a good ending I think.
I'm going to try and watch the film tonight

That then leaves me Arrietty for tomorrow night :D

And on a related note, I got Schoolgirl Milky Crisis through this morning, i finally got round to ordering it.

Another, older series related, interesting bit of news is that Madman in Australia have licensed the uncut version of Cardcaptor Sakura. To be released as two sub-only collections starting in July. (source ... see under acquisitions about half way down the page)

That is pretty good news.
Madman seem to be getting some of the older series back, as they're also doing Patlabor from memory.

If UP1 are doing Aussie stuff now, I may make more use out of them :)

As demonix says, Australia is starting to get some titles that the US either isn't, or has lost the licences to (Cardcaptor and Patlabor etc).
