The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

On another subject, I'm probably going to have to find out what scenes in Martian Successor Nadesico have been re-animated since I'm already eight episodes in and I've only found one noticeable scene that has been re-done.

I'm glad i'm not the only one (up to episode 6) :)

I'm enjoying it a lot, I think partly because it's probably been 3-4 years since I last watched it.

********

That might explain the call I got this morning from Mr Barclaycard, my Mastercard was apparently used yesterday in America in some art studio for £2, then for an O2 top up in the UK.

I hope that if it is them, they're not hurt too badly by it, as they are generally pretty good as a store.

I'll have to keep an eye on my Visa card as well, as I've used that with them recently (fortunately I never use my debit cards online, except to pay off my credit cards, so at least it's not "my" money at risk).
At least it means it's unlikely it's my machine that's been compromised (I've been running windows security on a full scan since about 9am this morning, it's just over 60% done, and reckons it's scanned something like 6.5 million file), I'm going to run Avast and Malwarebytes later just in case.

I received an email from Anime online.

Dear Customer,

In the interests of improved security anime-on-line will shortly re-launch using the Card Save World Pay portal in order to attain the highest level of e-commerce security, 3D secure. Additionally we will be implementing a PayPal option.

These improvements however will mean the deletion of all established customer profiles and any outstanding orders, including part completed orders. Customers are only ever billed for goods physically shipped, so any part completed order would only have been billed for items you have received.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please take the time to re-establish your profile on the new and improved site and we hope to continue to be of service to you in the future.

Anime-on-Line

I'll probably place my orders with them again once the new site is up and running.

Rather annoyingly I found out last night that my secondary card also got hit.
I had to get my brother to send me some money via PP to pay for an auction I won last night.

I hope one or other of the replacements arrives by Saturday as I'm away this weekend and don't like carrying much cash.

I'm going to have to memorise my card numbers again - I could recite my old ones (including expiry, and CVV) from memory.

That picture is like a list of stuff I've been meaning to watch :p (either again or for the first time).

I just finished watching Nadesico TV and Prince of Darkness as I couldn't sleep, and I'd forgotten how good the TV series is, and the film is better than I remember it :)
It's hard to believe Nadesico is something like 15 years old now

I'm going to try the Gekigenger OVA's tomorrow/later today.

Demonix, from what I've heard it may have been mainly the fight in the first episode of Nadesico.

I just checked Amazon and picked up a Fruits basket Ultimate edition vol 1 for under a fiver:p I'm going to have to try and pick up the rest of the series, as I've stupidly put it off (probably for too long as I think it's OOP).

I also noticed my CCS omnibus 4 is "dispatching soon", which surprised me as that wasn't listed there for release until December, yet my Love Hina omnibus is running late;)

Also it looks like Anime-on-line is back up, but not full operational, I'll give them another go and re-order Rosario & Vampire season 2 if they do the offer on it again, but I'll probably be using them for other stuff again soon anyway (they're currently accepting paypal until their new third party processor is sorted).

memyselfandi, ah that would explain it:p

demonix, I can't remember black bars on the movie - was it the old ADV US version you saw or the UK one? (I've got the UK one somewhere, and it may be that the US version had them, but not the UK).

The Gekigangar OVA is a little odd, it's half the clips they showed in the TV series, and then a mini episode, I think it was definitely done at least in part to link the TV series to the game.

arekgreenman888 Fullmetal Panic might tickle your fancy, I'm trying to think of more, but at the moment my brain is a tad fried (not enough sleep over the past few days, and I've spent much of the day getting armie lists sorted for wargames).

I still find it hard to believe that MSN is as old as it is, and that they've not gone back to it :( (I was reading last night as I couldn't sleep, and found suggestions that they were planning on more, but it got canned quite close to when they would have started work properly on it).

Ah I meant MSN as in Martian Successor Nadesico:p (ignore me if i'm getting confused - I'm more asleep than awake).
Although what MS have done with MSN the im client annoys the heck out of me:p (it's bloated, has annoying flash adverts etc :p

That's an interesting one, and possibly if they're sucessfull it might lead to some more extensive projects (I have very fond memories of the OVA's from the 80's and early 90's that were funded mainly from the sale of the taoes).

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but anime-on-line have Starship Operators for £4 at the moment on their weekly deal, and you can pay via paypal:p

I finished watching Shakugan no Shana last night which was good, and I see there is a second season out now/soon in the states which I may have to look at getting :)

I've also started on Starship Operators, which looks like it could be interesting (very similar character designs to Salty Rei and a few others I've seen in the last couple of years).

And on Monday it's Rosario and Vampire S2:p

I forgot to say the other day, but Anime-on-line have Gun X Sword as their offer of the week for a tenner :)

I finished watching Rosario & Vampire Capu2 last night which was good fun, if slightly more disjointed than the first season.
I'm probably going to start on Gun X Sword tonight.

Also it looks like Manga are releasing the second season of Shakugan no Shan in March :)

What channel is that?

A little heads up, apparently Zavvi are doing various Ghibli Blu/DVD double packs for about £11, and the Arriety deluxe one a pound or so more (Laputa isn't listed under blu-rays, but DVD's for it's double pack).

Is there more Gundam?

Short answer: Yes.

Long Answers, masses of of, in multiple series, OVA's and films, some of which are related (but might be years apart in their production date, sometimes with a different continuity of Gundam between two related titles), some are separate to anything, and some are only vaguely connected..

I've seen some of it myself, Wing, Seed (but not Seed: Destiny), X and Y, but there are loads to see, Anime News Networks encyclopaedia has a full listing of Gundam titles, and if you follow the links they're user rated (and ANN's encyclopaedia is quite handy in it states which titles are related to which, and how, IE if they are a prequel, sequel, or retelling of the same story).

Unfortunately I'm not really up on Gundam :(

Claymore possibly?
Although that's a fairly short series.

I started on Puella Magi Madoka Magica this morning (woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep), which is almost completely a blind buy for me - I knew it was magical girls and meant to be good, but that was about it:p
So far I'm really enjoying it, it's darker than I'd thought it would be
the death of the "nice" veteran magical girl in episode 3, and the implication that the various magical girls may be fighting each other.
, and the animation for the "mazes" reminds me of Alice in wonderland with the style/feel to them.
I'm looking forward to watching more tonight :)

Baccano is pretty great, although it requires you pay a lot of attention to get the timeline right ;)
I watched it after my brother sent me a clip of the two goofs on the train realising they'd forgotten to get anything for the young girl (sorry I'm forgetting names).

IIRC most of the anime legends collections are basically the same discs as the original releases in a multi pack case (IE a 4-8 disk case with flip over trays).
You don't get the nice covers that you do for the individual releases, but they are a lot cheaper and take up much less room.
