The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

With TRSI you can split things up, but it'll cost $10 for the first item of every package and $3 for additional items, and given the cost of many DVD's etc you'll still be liable for customs :(

It can be worth working out if it's cheaper to split an order with two or three items that will be over the limit to two packages under it, or to risk the customs charge.

Personally I tend to either order at under the limit if it's a bargain, or throw enough items in the order that the customs hit (mainly the handling fee) isn't too harsh.

That fate/stay bike looks pretty awesome, especially with the doll :)

after a weekend away I got round to watching some Desert Punk last night, I'm not sure what to think of it at the moment, it's not quite hitting the spot.
I also ordered Romeo X Juliet which as mentioned earlier is on offer at AOL.

Finally, in case anyone is interested Code Geass S1 and 2 are now up for pre-order on Blu :D (I kept forgetting to buy the old Beez release, so the Blu version is very nice :D).

It looks like things are going downhill at media blasters as three announced releases have been cancelled which includes the second season of squid girl, one now has no release date and several others have had their release dates changed.

That if true is a real shame, Media Blasters are about the last of the original US animé companies, and the last of them bar Manga who are still putting out stuff :(

They've put out some good, and some silly titles in the past, but even I must admit thought something was up with their release dates etc changing over the last while.

That's actually tue, I forget how often MB tend to change release dates etc at short notice (and from memory, unlike most of the other anime publishers in the States, they run a general anime/manga/japanese store a bit like mvm and rightstuf so don't have all their eggs in one basket).

In case anyone is interested Anime-on-line have what I'm told is the rather good, Ergo Proxy on offer for a tenner at the moment.
I put off buying it when it was first out, and it then went OOP, so seeing it at a tenner is a must for me :p

Most if the anime on that list I'd recommend, as I would Elfen Lied (I think that's getting re-released here in the new year?), and Spice and Wolf.

Gantz is currently on sale at Anime-on-line.co.uk for a tenner, so I ordered a copy as I've not seen it (I kept meaning to when it came out, then forgot about it:p).
I must admit I'm taking full advantage of AOL's bargains of the week to fill in some holes in my collection :)

[edit]
Is anyone else finding it hard to find the time to watche anything?
I think I've watched all of 6 episodes of Ergo Proxy in the past week, I'm enjoying it, but don't seem to have the time free to watch it:( (I'm watching it in about 10-15 minute chunks:p).

Just read on ANN that Manga will be releasing Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood in full on Bluray, and will also be releasing the remaining sets for those who bought the first two :D
This makes me a happy bunny given I was one of those who bought sets 1 & 2 on blu-ray.

They'll also be releasing Eureka Seven AO and Black Rock Shooter :)

well they did finish the blu-ray release of FMB in the usa, so after seeing how it did there they change they mind for the uk.

I suspect it's more how well other UK anime Blu's are selling, iirc when FMA:B was being released it was selling only about 150 units in it's first week, and needed to sell something like 10x that many to have a chance of breaking even.

I would have bought the US release but at the time didn't have a multi region blu-ray player.

Aye, iirc when it was released only a handful of anime titles were available in the UK on blu-ray, now it seems to be much more common, and the price of players has dropped from £100+ for the cheapest, to in some cases little more than a half decent DVD player (I ended up buying a Phillips blu-ray player when my DVD player died, as it was only about £10 more).

i hoping for black lagoon season 1 & 2 on blu ray to be released in the uk.
They're already out, about £25 each from memory.

demonix, that could well be it, but iirc they've also sold tens of thousands of copies of some blu-ray titles now, so it could be a combination of the two :) (cheaper to do now, combined with a market that is much more strongly established for people to buy blu-rays of anime).

Having seen that Arrietty is on, I may either tune into it, or put my copy in the player :)
I quite liked it :)

I got a little bit of a surprise this morning, my copy of Persona 4 set 1 has shipped from Amazon to arrive tomorrow:eek: (whether it does or not is another matter), I'd totally got the release date wrong in my mind, as being in February/March (I think that's the second set:p).

Urrrrgh ... £42.09 in fees :(

Is that the customs fees on the CD set, or the shipping fees?

On a slightly different note, I started watching Dojin Works (I got the bundle from TRSI with the manga and the DVD's a few weeks back), which I'm enjoying, it's a slightly different take on the Comic Party/Genshiken theme (talking of which, I got the first couple of Genshiken Omnibus editions the other day :D)), with the main character trying to do an 18+ dojin to make money, and seemingly learning to not be embarrassed by it, whilst getting involved in various related stuff.
I'm only up to episode 4 or 5 at the moment though.

Oooh, more Ghost is always good :D
I've had an itch to rewatch SAC for a few weeks since my MP3 player played "be human" and "lithium flower" whilst I was waiting for my dad at the doctors :)

Does anyone know if there any news of the UK getting K-on S2?
I ask as I ordered S1 yesterday :)

Ouch, the second Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha movie has been listed in Japan for a release at the end of March ... at £85 for the special edition BD release (plus shipping and probably Customs etc) :(

Does have English subs though ...

That's a fairly pricey release compared to UK/US ones (although having said that, I did get the two Patlabor movie SE's, the Gunbuster SE and the Wings of Honamease BD/DVD set), which weren't that much cheaper.

I've been watching Ah! My Buddha, which was silly but fun to watch (no need to engage brain much), I think my favourite character in it was possibly Demon kun ;)

Now I'm just waiting on the postie to bring me Code Geas.

pecnarf, I really need/want to get the Black Lagoon Blu's, but can't justify the cost at the moment given I've got the DVD's already (I'm waiting for them to drop under £20).

If you have a multi region player there was someone on fleabay selling the US release of Black Lagoon Series 1 and 2 combined for about £33!

Cheers, I'm trying to avoid getting a MR blu-ray player as it would invariably encourage me to spend more...and I already spend too much on anime and Blu-rays :p

I liked the two series of Ah! My Buddha ... good fun series :D

Aye, I didn't really know much about it before watching, except that it look fun :p

Ironwarrior, that's a nice figure :)

OOh, I hadn't heard about the Patlabor OVA's on blu, that's tempting, as I love Patlabor (the movies were some of the first anime I saw, and I've got everything on DVD).
But I must resist the urge to go MR for Blu, as I want to upgrade my PC in a couple of months, and it'll be the first big upgrade* I've done in about 4 years :p

I got my copy of Code Geass through this morning, so I'll probably be watching some of that this evening :)

*I'm thinking I7 with something like 32gb of ram.

Andarial, I always get talked down from "excessive" amounts of ram when building a machine (either because I decide to spend the money elswhere, or people trying to talk sense:p), and then regret it later on.
This time I'm aiming for 32, with 16 as a minimum:p

I'll probably look at a MR Blu later in the year, but for now I'm trying to cut back on DVD/Blu ray spending, which I can say with an almost straight face :)

Talkin of Blu-rays, I got Code Geass through earlier and spotted an error in the specs on the case, the back cover states it's got a running time of 288 minutes, but the slip cover states 625, which is almost certainly the correct running time given it's 25 episodes :)
