The Apprentice 2008

Fully agree. Boys shafted her good and proper. They choose a location together then decided to leave it to lucinda to choose her location and sell her car even though the two boys obviously knew more about the products.

It was a poor show by Lee who seems to have hated Lucinda for a long time. Bit of a bully that one.

are you watching the same show? lee has stuck up for her more than anyone else

I can't believe all these people sticking up for lucinder. She is a good pm but that is it. If she gets asked to do anything slightly outside her comfort zone (basically everything) she has a major strop and starts crying. She's not even competent generally (selling an aston as a zonda). If they had lost this week she would have definitely gone.

Think helene has been marked by SA and at this stage you don't have much time to impress and change his mind so she'll go next week, maybe with lucinder. Claire and Alex should sail through the interviews and lee might make a bit of a fool of himself by getting tongue-tied but should stay. Still think Alex will win.
She didn't sell the Aston as a Zonda/Zonda. She tried to sell the Aston as a Zonda. ;)

Who saw the first series. Of the last 4 in that series, id say they would all be in my top 6 of all time.
Seen all four series. The first was the best as it was original then and no-one had seen anything before (obviously) so they couldn't learn anything about Sir Alan. Each following series has gotten worse as the contestants don't seem to have the faintest clue what to do despite there now being previous series to learn from.

TrickyJ's Weekly Apprentice Roundup!

I really liked this challenge: much more of an entertaining selling event :)

Michael- your fired!! Good riddance you arrogant, horrible little man. You have muddled your way through this far through pure persistant sphincter schmooching but have rightly been fired this week - a mere 10weeks too late :p
What a bad salesman- Desperation, Begging, aggression, pushy, gobby- stick to double glazing cold calls you imbecile. Following that man... I was praying that man would call the police. Good riddance you little bag of excrement- I am certain you will fall flat on your face business wise and I look forward to your run-down club appearances later this year.

Lucinda- I felt a bit sorry for her being left on her own, however would have more respect for her if she decided to not moan so much about it and spent the effort engaging with the task. Mixups on the name were cringeworthy but also that forgiving "aww bless" attitude.

Lee- I feel his sales were more through product than salesmanship- although proven salesman from the wedding task - i dont particularly feel he excelled in the team leading role. Nonetheless, kudos for standing his ground with the decisions he made & admitting "I've made the decisions, if we now don't sell- I'm gone.".

Alex- As much as I don't like him as a person, he performed well tonight. The task was to sell, his role was to sell and he sold- not much more to it than that :) Watching SAS' eyes light up when hearing alex's sales figures has put him in a great position in terms of opinion and reputation.

Claire- similar to alex, the task was to sell, she sold- just unfortunate her manager had chosen low price- low gain products. SAS likes her and now she's minding her P's & Q's in the boardroom, might just win it!

Helene - every week I write this but your not listening are you HELEN- pronounce your name properly- your not special :p

This girl will be out on her arse next week unless she steps up to the plate and bangs out some great decisions. Having hidden herself away from the negative limelight has not gone unnoticed- you are yet to achieve anything and unless you achieve- your out!

An enjoyable episode- very entertaining :D Looking forward to the interviews next week- theyre going to be harsh and theyre going to be worth the watch :)

and just to finish off :
Oh dear.Lucinda is a bit of a fooooool.Saying its a Zonda and its a Merc.

Priceless irony! :D

I still can't believe the choices that Micheal made when choosing locations to ply his trade. I'm very glad he has finally gone.
Spitalfields market and the LSE were spot on. My office is actually very close to Spitalfields, wish I knew what was going on so I could have seen the candidates in action!

I think Claire will make it to the final. SAS openly makes rude comments in front of her such as the blackwall tunnel joke which really cracked me up! I think he only does that to ppl he likes.

yeap most bosses would only do that to people they could get on with.

Although the badger should have won her series and didn't :(

£100,000 (minimum) year contract under SAS working in one of his companies & lots of money from press/reviews/interviews etc

Have they ever done a follow up series showing how the winner of the apprenticeship has been getting on? Are all previous winners still working for big Al ? Would also be nice to see how the candidates got on with their careers after competing on the show.

Yes, for every series. Except when michelle duberry won she got preggers through sayed and miscarried and ooh er. so yeah theres only been 2 follow ups. as michelle duberry's time went boobs up

I think the original guy left amicably after a while to try his own business ideas. The second girl got pregnant from another contestant, had a miscarriage and left. The most recent winner is still working with him on some property finding/buying website I believe.

Half the people that win apprentice leave after about a year.

I think Claire will win, but i really hope she doesn't.

Awesome, I'll need to keep a look out. Never seen them advertised before.

I'm going for Lee. He's a bit over the top for my liking but it shows he's so enthusiastic. Even when he's not sure about something(thongs for example), he'll get stuck in and make the most of it. You don't want a know it all like Alex, you want someone with passion that's prepared to learn. Lee fits that imo.

I think Al seems to forget his show isn't just about being a salesman. Every task seems to reflect this.

'Apprentice' reject crushed by wall

Apprentice reject Nicholas De Lacy Brown was hospitalised after being crushed by a wall last week.

Brown, 24, was injured when a lorry drove into a building site and knocked bricks on top of him.

A source told The Sun: "He was trapped for several agonising minutes and screaming in pain.

"Things really took a surreal turn when the film crew (filming an ITV documentary) also jumped out of the ambulance with the paramedics."

The trainee barrister underwent several operations, but was informed by doctors that he would not be able to walk without crutches until October.

*tries not to snigger*
