The Apprentice 2018 (Series 14) - 3rd October

About time he did a double firing,
surprised Jackie didn't make it to the final as she was one of the stronger candidates.

Me and the missus sat there last night both adamant that she wouldn't go, then bang, fired.

I didn't like her at all the first few weeks but she really grew on me, more for her ability than personality though.

Tom was awful at pitching, to the point I actually felt bad for him when he was doing the “dry-run” with the TV woman... calling the product generic. Not the first time he’s slated the thing he’s trying to sell either, which he did in the art task

Jackie was being manipulative and she pushed Tom in to the PM role which was her downfall. Sugar told her that he didn’t like that on week 1, so no excuses there.

Sian needs to be brought down a peg. Her team could have walked this task had she lowered the price of the expensive earrings and taken onboard some advice.

No idea how this stuff works, however presumably if she lowered the price then the 1 purchase they potentially had would've been more likely to pull out knowing they had been sold cheaper? That was the only argument I could think that would go against it.

That said, on the other side of the coin given it was sales £ and not margin/profit that counted, not sure why they didn't end the high ticket items as low as they could.

Edit: Tom is too much of a fluffy 'we all have the same say' type of leader for the process. Probably part of the reason he got setup with the team leader position too..

no not horse face, I liked horse face as for some reason I find Canadian horse faced women attractive, I’m looking at you Katherine Ryan.

That's exactly how it works with QVC et al :p

They'll keep dropping the price until the items sell and build up a frenzy of sales. Basically, if you buy an item at the full price then you're asking for a gouging... although as they stated in the show, buyers aren't committed to a purchase. All well because they knocked nearly £300 off the cost of the bigger items, which must sting if you've already pulled the trigger.

I think they stated that everyone pays the lowest price, so even if you said you'd by item 1 at £1000 straight away, if the final price is £500, that's what you pay.

What an absolutely car crash episode, I was expecting all 3 to be sacked on the losing team.

The winning team offering £50,000-100,000 marketing campaigns and marketing people in thousands of stores nationwide. If lying through your teeth is allowed and money doesn't matter then why not just offer the retailers 100% cashback on all orders? even though their product was better the orders should have been made null and void because their business wasn't viable and they couldn't deliver on what was promised.

Possibly the worst episode of the Apprentice ever?

Roll on next week as we finally get interviews and grilling.

I still maintain that Sian will win, but she was at serious risk of getting sacked after that last episode.

Utterly found out for BS'ing... she's lucky she won.

Honestly expected him to pull both teams back to the board room to be honest, mainly for her blatant lies in the first pitch and slightly less blatant lie in the second.

Well, amazed at who actually got through to the final. Bizarre reasoning.

Didn't really like the whole, tearjerker 'lets be nice to the candidates at end of interview'.
