The Apprentice

Ruith sure did shine through this week - my only problem with her is that SAS might think she is too good and doesn't actually need to be an apprentice.

last years winner Tim was competent but he still needed guidance and as such was perfect apprentice material.

it's almost like the 3 front runners (for me anyways) are TOO competent.
Ruth, Ansell and Paul don't look like they actually need anyone else to do well.

Syed is a lying incompetent and will surely be out next week if his team fails.

Michelle might emerge as the one for SAS.

so far SAS has chiseld out the ones who he obviously didn't like and the some he were knows were not fit.

some great tyelly still to come from this show - I wonder if the final 3 will undergo the interview day that they had in series 1.

When you first said SAS, I just got confused. Took me a while to get you meant Sir Alan Sugar and not the British Special forces :p

I was sitting here and wondering "why would the british special forces want her if shes goot at selling flats?"

I balme the fact I just woke up :p

I'm not so sure Ruth is what Alan Sugar is looking for tbh. She was supposed to be working as part of a team and instead she decided to go it alone and save her own skin.

After watching the American Apprentice the British one looks like a bunch of retards tbh. Also the American one is far more unpredictable...such as 4 people being fired in one go :D

I wouldn't want to hire any of them. Each and every one of them has some bad trait that makes them completely inappropriate for the job they are seeking.

I've always thought the US version is edited to shreds, because of the ads you don't get to see an whole hour of the show thus you don't get to see it all. Even more so in the hands of the editor.

Does anyone else think Ruth is turning into a dyke looking version of David Brent?

She keeps taking to people in a third person, derogatory, trying to make it sound funny (but you aren't) type of way! Its just cringing sometimes!!! :o

BBC need some new servers.

Ye there suck dont they, im glad i only missed the first four episodes...it takes nearly twice as long to watch the dam things, and thats with 8mb connection

I think everyone watched the Arsenal game last night and is now trying to watch The Apprentice at work today. :o

Yeah BBC online can be really bad. Seems to depend a lot on when you want to watch it tho, sometimes its fine and sometimes its unwatchable.

My money's on Ansell, i think he's the best one out of them all, and he has the least ego.
Shame to see Tuan go, he could have done it but he gave up and didn't sell anything. They used to fight till the last minute but the last two both seem to have given up before the task ended, and decided that it was their fate to go.

I doubt that will work against her provided it's clear she can work within, and running, a team. After all, Tuan tried that line and AS pointed out, rather bluntly, he wasn't hiring a team - he was hiring a single person.

Part of the art of this show is knowing when to be a team player, and when to go it alone. Provided Ruth's solo act wasn't to the detriment of the team (and it wasn't on this occasion), and providing she can work in harmony within a team - which I'm not convinced she has demonstrated yet), she'll be okay.

The team she was in lost, I'd say that her going it alone was detrimental to the failure of the team.

Well, from what I've seen I can't say I've seen her working as a team member, she just goes off doing her own thing if it pleases her.

Does he have to hire someone at the end? I'd love to see him, at the live? final, say you're both fired :p and walk off.

And the BBC servers do indeed suck, I have to watch it at 4-5am to get a good stream

Not necessarily.

Her team sold six rentals, and she did five ofthem. One of htose was the largest property on their books. That suggests she was responsible for somewhere between 75% and 90% ofthe commission her team generated.

If she'd worked in the team, and not gone alone, it's possible and, I suggest, likely that she wouldn't have got as much, and the team wouldn't have done as well as they did.

Sometimes, the best thing for the team is for a star performer to work alone. Otherwise, the star's performance suffers, and the team doesn't gain by enough to compensate. And, at least on that task and in that environment, she was clearly a star.

Indeed. I don't disagree with that at all. But, it MAY have been the best thing to do, both for her, and the team.
