The Apprentice

Looks like everyone came back for the final apart from Katie and the guy who missed his kids. Have I missed anyone else?

Knew it would be Simon ;-)

Edit: I suspect that in the 6 months they worked with Sir Alan Kristina annoyed people, and Simon inspired people.

Yessss! Get in there Simon!

I'm so glad he won, he's going to have such an amazing time learning and developing as a person in the job. All the best to him. :)

Crap choice, Simon's not at all a good thinker. I think he masks a lot of things with big words, and fancy features and a lot of waffling. He doesn't tackle problems head on, he says he does, he doesnt. The design was not at all good in my opinion. From a person who lives in London, love's highrise archicture and does it as a hobby, i'll be vain and say I consider my knowldge in that field to be more than what is expected of me at my age.

The floorplates of the design will not attract tenants. The tenants he is going for, mainly office, will not come through. If this buildig was built, it will not be built in time for the London property cycle come 2011. In that time the big companies that are looking for office space would have taken Shard: London Bridge, 122 Leadenhall, Heron Tower, Riverside South, More London or Cheapside & London Wall.

Kristina's design had flaws but was better out of the two. It used whole site. It tapered in from the back, not giving an overbearing intimidating look but enough to make the most return. The fact that she decided to base most of it on residential was very very clever. The Square Mile needs residentials. The Southbank is the hotspot for this. Why? It's there to rival Canary Wharf just down the road. The residential units will sell like hotcakes. Stick Shangri La Hotels in there whilst your at it and to be quite honest, she would have seen more return on what she expected.

SIMON!!
He made a good choice!

Lets be honest, there were no real outstanding candidates and tbh I find Simon so annoying I could never hire him. Personally I think Sir Alan will realise that this was a mistake from the outset, sooner or later.

was the first guy to go there?? Can't even remember his name, think it was Paul or Steve or something.

I think Simon was an excellent choice. Sir Alan can mold him to what he wants, whereas Kristina is completely immobile. Her way is the best way and she's not interested in what anyone else thinks or wants. In my experience, that just doesn't work in real life business, you have to be prepared to give to a degree. I thought she was an excellent prospect but at the end of the day she would get people's backs up all the time and bring them down, whereas Simon would at least make an effort to be likeable and keep spirits up. Kristina backstabbed her way through the first couple of tasks and I don't think anyone would ever trust her and to reach full potential you have to trust in your leadership. I wouldn't have any problems working for Simon, but I'd have to seriously consider resigning if Kristina took over in my department!

There were quite a few people not there from the original contestants (16 started out I think?) Andy, Sophie (quantum physics woman), Ifti (walked out), Ghazal, Gerri (had to look on the beeb website for her name shows how memorable she was!) and of course Katie.

Well done Simon, the right choice imo. As for Kristina, I take it Sir Alan has offered her a job?. On TV he said he would give her a job if he could but perhaps hes just saying that to not make it appear unfair somehow  . Not sure.
