yes there is no cap on the official 1.80 bios so its well worth getting it.

runs fine for me here, overclocks just the same as ocwbeta7. still has 1t issues so not sure if thats something that they will ever manage to sort out. hopefully they add the extra memory dividers.

cool good news the no cap............ :)

sorry, only just got this board and havent tried it out, what issues does it have with the 1t command?

Cheers

If you have 4x512MB memory sticks, you can only run at 2t timings. Although i think that is because AMD doesn't support it rather than the board.

lots of people on the ocw forums including me can't run a 1T command rate even when using 2 memory sticks. something funny with the board or the bios.

Just out of curiosity, some of these asrock boards come with a port you can bang a card in to run an AM2 processor, looking on mine I'm struggling to work out how you would get a half decent heatsink and fan on and have it fit and not pull the card out of the slot, seems to be a gimmick more than something useful.

also for the prie of the expansion board you would be better off getting a whole new motherboard, seeing as how cheapo the asrock board is to begin with it won't nearly hurt as much as those who paid 140+ quid for a dfi expert board. :D

lucky git, how did you manage to get 1t working when loads of other people are having problems with it? im guessing it amy be a combination of certain brand ram that will work in 1t with this board. i wonder if a bios update could fix this problem?

never had a problem with any bios my board came with 1.2 and worked fine then.

1T works with me aswell - i have had an occasional crash but im not sure if its the OC or the RAM - any memtest or priming i have done has never brought any problems. i have had the occasional BSOD, probably 1 a month and i can live with that :)

i have 2 x 512MB Geil Value RAM btw.

thats understandable, probably more to do with the cpu's mem controller crapping out with 4 sticks running 1t than the mb like you say. My old winnie 3200+ wouldnt overclock with 4 sticks and wouldn’t even run when set to 1t command with 4 dims.

Cheers

yea only 2t for me which is a bummer. there is a lot of bandwidth difference foing from 2t to 1t. almost 400mb per second difference. but the main thing it shows up in is running super pi. the scores are better with 1t.

If you look back through this thread  you'll find that 2x512 runs fine at 1T but upgrade to 2x1gb and your back to 2T.
Thats good to know.
I was considering buying two 1GB sticks so I could carry on running @ 1T, (currently 2 x 512mb @ 1T) but as it can't be done on this board, I think I'll just add another pair of 512mb sticks instead. :)

With 'real world applications' though, 2T is much less of a performance issue than the synthetic benchmarks would have everyone believe.

Thats not true, im running 2 x 1gig at 1T without problem. you just need to change the burst lenght to 8 and it will run happily at 1T

burst length to 8? hmm, but what about the people who run windows X64? isn;t that supposed to have burst length set to 4 only otherwise there will be problems?
