I don't think any of the modded BIOS's let you increase the voltage past 1.45v, you need to physically mod the board :(

Damn :( I dont fancy my chances doing that kinda of thing to the board :p Guess it'll have to stay at 2.7  :p

I've actually just tried it myself, was quite surprised I managed to bridge the two contacts as they're tiny, didn't help my overclocks whatsoever, in fact, no matter what voltage I pick now I can't get over 2.6ghz, time to get the flux out.

You don't just bridge two contacts and then set voltages willy nilly in the bios. There is a set pattern as to which contacts to bridge and what to set in the bios to achieve certain voltages.

I know, believe it or not I did actually read an article on it before going ahead. My point still stands, no voltage now (be it below 1.45v or above) let's me go any higher than 260fsb.

this is a nice wqee setup am planning on picking up at the end off next month :) but if AMD drop prices of the higher chips then it will change:

Thermaltake VC2000BNS Mambo SuperMidi Tower - Black (CA-026-TT) - £27.95
Tagan TG480-U01 480W ATX2.0 SLi Compliant Silent PSU - £50.50
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 90nm (Socket 939) - £69.95
Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 (Socket 939 & Upgradable to AM2) AGP & PCI-Express Motherboard - £36.95
GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5 (GE1GB3200BHDC) £59.95
alman CNPS9500-AM2 Aero Flower (Socket AM2/939/754) CPU Cooler - £29.95

nice setup in my opinion :P

So long as you're not thinking of using the AM2 addon board, it'll only fit a stock cooler by the look of it.

am not worried about AM2, for 5% - 9% performance it hardly worth it. but then again if AMD do pull something out off the bag, ill just change the board.

Am only worried about the AGP/PCI-e slots, I have a 6800Ultra card which am with, upgrade to PCI-e at some stage.

Anyone got cool'n'quiet working on this board?

Ive set all stuff in BIOS to auto and enabled coolnquiet, changed the power scheme but its still running 100% and idling around 45c.

Looked on AMDs site but not much useful stuff there, no drivers for it as far as i can see, just Linux ones.

EDIT, nevermind, thought the last driver on that page was for servers only, but its XP too... working fine now, hopefully wont be roasting to death now.

Hi there everyone just read through the whole thread.... bought the following at the weekend...

3700+
Asrock Dual Sata2
X1800XT
2X512MB TCCD PQI
Antec Overture II

No problems yet, except I was meant to usemy trusty 9800pro until when installing it I slipped and knocked a couple of caps and another strange thing off! This case uses the same power supply as the sonata, which a lot of people have had problems with, but mine is working like a charm...

Cant tell which bios I am currently running, the boot screen flys by too fast. But have just noticed there is a 2.20 bios, anyone tried it or heard of it yet?

Only problem I Have with C&Q is that it uses the cpu default voltages for high and low power mode. It doesnt seem to respect that I want the max voltage as set in bios so c&q limits my overclock abit. I cant work out what to set in rmclock to try and override it. It acknowledges max voltage is 1.35, but c&q only goes up to cpu default 1.30.

Your X2 3800 has a default voltage of 1.30 ? Mine is 1.35

Pretty relaxed here, Corsair Value Select 2gig kit at 8-3-3-3 2T

ok :)

I never know what all the means.. can u be more elaberate (to the asrock bisos) so i know whih is which? if u dont mind, thanks

anyone running the "OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series EL-DDR CAS2 (OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K) (MY-057-OC)" kit on their boards?

If so whats it like.. 1t working?? Timings?

Ta :)

Yeah it is. Strangely I built a very similar (apart from memory) machine to mine for a freind and baught another boxed 3800 2 weeks after mine and that defaults to 1.35 :| Of course I forgot to note what the batch/serial code was but mine is ADA3800DAA5BV. I dont know if its relivent but all the cpu diagnostic tools such as cpu-z pick mine up as a manchester core, but rmclock says taledo. Everest shows both the above X2s at 89 - 110 wattage even though mine has a lower vcore rating to start with.

Okay... I've ran into a little problem (Apparent Incompatibility) that you might (or might not) want to know about.

The Mobo is apparently incompatible with a SBLive! (Any version that connects to a LiveDrive!) when using a Live Drive. It will not output *anything at all* to the LiveDrive (Or MIDI to the gameport).

No amount of different/hacked Drivers would cure it, tried updates, enabling/disabling bits, different SB Live cards... everything.

This had me scratching my head for a long time (2 Months), but when I swapped over to my MSI Neo2 Plat+6600GT last night, it all worked straight off the bat, MIDI, Audio, everything. It was so tempting just to fling all the MIDI stuff out the window...

So, now the Asrock is getting resigned to the GF's rig now (Ironically, with the X800XT, as the DUAL SATA2 is the only PCI-e Mobo I own, LOL). It's of no use to me if I can't use MIDI, and I use MIDI a lot more than I game. Only 2 problems with the board in my book.. no Backplate and now this LiveDrive! Compatibility problem.

Now to sort out my mixer, Sync it all up, and I'm happy.
