yes i get the same i was wondering what caused it ? anyway what is the best temp monitoring programme to use with these asrock boards ? :)

google sensorview, seems OK to me

Ive had occasions where I boot up the PC and it will get past the xp loading screen and then just stays blank, no login screen.

I am really against flashing the bios, as last time it caused the pc not to boot.

I am thinking some problems I have on here are caused by the motherboard, and maybe its worth getting a nforce board at some point.

This board just gets better! :D

I've had another push today because 'I felt like it. My opty 144 (1.8GHz stock) is running at 2.88GHz on 1.45v!

2.9GHz seems to be my limit due to voltage, so it looks like i'll be getting me a conductive pen and going for 1.5v and cracking 3GHz with this opty! :)

This is on air and MBM is reporting an idle temp of 33'c, which is to good to be true if you ask me.

In Systool, which clock generator do i select for this board ?

I have an Opty 146 but can only get it to go to 2.55 Ghz :(
Ram is GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS3

O/C ing noob as you can tell :P

I got this mobo last saturday, have my 4000+ san diego running at 2.82gb stable :D

A few questions though.

Can I up the voltage past 1.4v (says thats the max) I guess I can but only through volt modding right? (links?)

Is there anyway to get more ram dividers? I'm running my fsb at 235 but have to use the 166 diveder because there is no 183 one which leaves my ram running at 188mhz which is crappy. I can get 183 using a windows based tweaker but I have to do it every time i restart.

I did the mod as I could only get 2.4 stable now I hit 2.7 heres a link for the mod its right under the seating of the heat sink base!! took me a few mins to locate !! mod pic

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting one of these boards and a 3700sd as a cheap/free upgrade for my dad - the sale of his xp3200 and msi board should pay for all of it :D.
Just wondered what is the best bios for it and what the max vcore is without modding the board?

Many thanks

Without modding the max vcore is 1.45v

Thats what i thought, just wanted someone to confirm this. That should be enough to get a mild clock out of the 3700, not that my dad would even notice!

Now anyone shed any light on the bios version? is it just a case of the latest is the best, or is there a sweet spot in the revisions?

don't think I have the balls to do that. Never done anything like that before.

I'm seriously considering doing this volt mod now. I get to 2.93 on 1.45v with my 3700. It needs more power :p How easy is it? Can you do it with a pencil?

I found it quite easy to do, I used conductive paint to do the mod. I used a pencil at first but this made the computer not post as it didn't make a good connection. I tried again with a fine tipped paint brush and it worked first time.

You will need a steady hand or you could accidently get it on some other parts as it is very small and very close to other connections.

Thanks lee :) If i did use conductive paint.. is it removable?

I used a solder blob for mine, and yes I steady hand is a must LOL I practised first on an old board I had then went in for the kill :)
