**The ASrock 939dual-SATA2 (ULi M1695) thread**

The dual-vsta can control 4 pin pwm fans through the bios, according to Artic cooling website the silencer 64 pro has a 4 pin fan now, my one didn't :(
Ok, but would that be a problem with the 939Dual-SATA2 which has 3-pin?

Also, does that mean the fan on the HSF runs at full speed constant?

Well I changed the 3000+ for an X2 4600+.

PC seems generally zippier and it's killed some of the framerate dips in Oblivion that were bugging me.

The stock X2 fan seems a bit noisy though. The fan's running at 100% all the time. Speedfan doesn't seem to want to do anything with it and don't think there are any fan control options in the BIOS.

Anyone know of a software solution before I bung in a rheostat or change the cooler?

anyone get any problems with there Sata HD;s on here ?

I have just posted a new thread in Hard Drives, about my Samsung Spinpoint 250gb not my main HD, Main HD is a 74 Raptor.

My samsung just every now and then vanishes...very odd, have lastest sata drivers,

just wondering if anyone else has experianced that on here, I have actually RMA the samsung 3 times, so it cant be that,

Has the memory on this board got to be matched or can you run it with a stick of 512 and a stick of 256? (my mates having this board off me and thats all the memory that he's got)

should work ok

ive had mine running with 512MB OcUK Value PC3200 + 256MB Nanya PC2700 + 256MB Infinion PC3200 but I had to disable spread spectrum in the BIOS else it would crash every couple of days, after that it was rock solid running a 3000+.

My Samsung Spinpoint primary drive vanishes very occasionally -tends to happen sometimes when experimenting with high overclocks but it has also happened spontaneously on at least a couple of other occasions on a normal cold boot. It's always been fairly easy to resurrect it in the bios though.
Last time it happened I didn't realise at first what the problem was & thought the drive had become corrupted. Major relief when I realised it was just trying to boot with my slave drive.

Been a long time since I dipped into this thread! My mobo still running my o/clocked Opty great after all this time. :)

A question though, does this mobo run Vista ok without any dedicated drivers from Asrock?

(As there appear to be none!) :)

When I tried it, getting the ethernet port working was a pain in the arse. You had to put the machine into hibernation and then take it out again to get it working properly (otherwise you got a "this blah blah has limited connectivity" and the internet wouldnt work)

hi
did this fix it permanently and did you mean standby or really mean hibernation?

thanks

Also had LAN problem with Vista installed, in the end I just went out and bought a Belkin Gigabit eithernet controller PCI card, disabled the onboard LAN and now it works flawlessley with Vista.

Im sure they will get round to fixing the issue, no doubt in 6 months

I AM needing some help guys.

I have recently started having a problem

It either does not find any HD on my system when booting. or my 2nd HD (A Samsung Spinpoint 250GB) Vanishes at times from my MOBO. happening more often though now.

Nothing is loose in the case. wires seem fine. I have RMA the spinpoint 3 times so it cant be that. I have the latest sata drivers from ASROCK web site. I am not using Raid, Downloaded this recently from ASROCK for latest Sata driver . ULi5289

Doing my head in

Spec in sig

Main HD is a WD Raptor 74

Someone please help as I dont know what to check now.....

In Even Viewer Keep Getting lots of ERROR M5289 codes. and im lost

Just checked on OcUK motherboard range even if I did have to buy a new Mobo and they dont seem to stock many Mobo's no more. for 939 (opteron 146)

Awaiting the experts please....

I think he's posted in the wrong thread.

As far as I'm aware that processor is intel and will not work on a socket 939 amd 64 motherboard...or is there an am2 processor with that name, perhaps for the expansion board to handle?

No drivers are needed for the router.
