I have added a resistor but I can't get above 1.55v with it.
I was under the impression that my resistor would add 0.2v to every set voltage in the bios but that doesn't seem to be happening.

What rating is your resistor? Have a look at the link ive posted not far above.

Yes, you need to do a very simple solder/ conductive paint mod to get it to do 1.55

There is also another mod with a resistor (that no one in this thread has tried to my knowledge) that allows 1.6+

Strange why the maximum is so low. . . guess im to used to my DFI :D

Hi,

I need help with flashing the BIOS on this board. I will be flashing to the ocwbeta2 version. To flash do i type:

A:\FLASH ocwbeta2

or A:\FLASH ocwbeta2.rom

Please help, never flashed a board before and worried about causing some damage.

Cheers

Also is it possible to back up my current BIOS before hand or should I just download my version from asrocks site, just in case I have any problems?

ASRFLASH ocwbeta2.rom

Or

ASRFLASH ocwbeta2.rom /s yourbios.rom
To flash and save your old bios. Make sure the floppy has enough space (256Kb)

It was from that link that I worked out the resistor I would need.
As the board is currently on I can't measure the resistor as I've forgotton what is was.

Later today (you will need good daylight probably) try and read the resistor colour code.

There are on line sites if you can't remember what the colours mean. (I can't after all these years). :)

I've done a search of this thread using different key word/phrases but couldn't find an answer to this.

It doesn't matter what BIOS I use, but if I set the Vcore value from within the BIOS to 1.45v, it will stay at 1.45v until I shut-down my machine. When I next attempt to boot up my system, it wont boot into the POST screen but I have to turn my system off twice and then on the third attempt I get an error screen saying I can either F2 to change my settings or F1 for it to load the defaults.

If I go into my BIOS my CPU voltage settings have changed from a manual setting of 1.45v to the AUTO setting.

I've tried different flash files and ways of flashing my BIOS, but no matter which BIOS I use, official or OCW beta's, my manual setting wont save.

Anyone got any ideas please?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this thread guys :o

It happens all the time with the OCW Beta BIOS's, even if I haven't overclocked anything. Sometimes the vCore setting will take and I can then keep going into the BIOS to make other adjustments. But as soon as I turn my system off and come to turn it on later, I'm greeted with a blank screen and I have to keep turning my machine off and on until it lets me get back in.

The problem then is that my BIOS settings have reverted back to the defaults. I then have to keep trying(again!)to get the vCore setting to save :(

I've flashed back to the official v1.20 Asrock BIOS, and this version will save the vCore settings. The ironic thing is I can run with a HTT value of 274 on stock voltages; I only need to manually set the vCore when I set the HTT over 274.

internet help

just bought one of these and a 3700 , got to say wow coming from xp2400
anyway got everything in but when i use blueyonder disc to hook it up to an existing broadband connection it checks my system and then tells me to connect to modem and then it says there is a problem , but it is not specific
the connection works fine on the old system
anyone give me any pointers , like drivers , bios settings , jumpers , anything i have missed
dave

This mobo (just like my old one) detects the cable broadband as soon as I install the Realtek driver for the inbuilt nic. You have the nic working fine?

Never needed to use the BY install disk at all.

cheers lads i will download the updated drivers after work and put them in in the morning

More to the point just make sure you have the driver installed, old or otherwise. ;)

Lets hope installing all the BY stuff hasn't mucked things up to much for you, probably not.
