Hi there

I have recently installed some new corsair ram as per my signature. The ram is supposed to have timings of 2-3-3-6 at 1t. When I run my system at auto cpu speed (200), memory at 200mhz and my timings as 2-3-3-6 1t, my system crashes, not initially on start up but when i go to outlook 2003 and reply to emails, i get a nv4.disp stop message.

However I have managed to run the system overclocked to 220 at 2.5-3-3-6 and 2t and it doesn't crash at all.

Are there any other settings that i should fiddle with in the bios? Its annoying that i cant run the memory at the speeds it should be run at.

cheers for any help

A stab in the dark this, but as you're getting an error message that relates to your graphics drivers, have you tried turning Fast Writes off in your BIOS? This motherboard can have issues when fast writes are enabled.

I can manage 2.5-3-11-3 seeming to be the quickest. 1T with ocz booster @ 2.7v

thats for 133/166

i believe 2 cl is only on intel boards --I THINK

Sorry all i didnt make it clear, the mention was really toward the 2 gig corsair c2tp cas 2 kits. They run stable at above, sorry for quote self, but for barnsta :o

I havent heard of anyone using this ram getting the 2cl on anything but less of 200ddr.Even then not stable.I could be wrong, but its whats there for me and ive got a ocz booster.

You may be able to go 2.5-2-2-11 ill be envious if you can

Yeah pity i couldnt afford the gskill, shame really as ive got setup that would benefit.but hey :)

another problem!

I have 2 hdds sata raid and i also have a normal ide hdd that i keep my data and back things up on, am having problems with occasional boots and i am sure that i may have my ide settings wrong in bios 1.6.

what should i have set in bios for ide please. I also have a dvd on ide too

example-in partition magic my ide normal hdd comes up as disk 1, surely it should be disk 2.

in the ide config within the bios i have it set as ide-both, sata-enabled, sataop-raid and sata2 disabled.

thanks

If I remember correctly its only cas 2 out of the box on Intel systems, 2.5 on AMD

And running 1T can also cause some issues, try 2.5-3-3-6 2T and up the fsb if you can

A couple of questions

does the Board have mounting holes for heatsinks ?

does the board come with temp reading software or will i have to use
something like speedfan ?

Any other Board makers trying to compete with this cheap upgarde into
64bit computing ?

Thanks

Does it come with holes - YES.

Does it come with temp monitoring software - Can't say I've looked on the CD to be honest but Speedfan monitors it fine.

Any other boards like this - Don't think so. Heard rumours that ABit were thinking of it.

Change it to High in bios to get about 2.7v I think. If you need higher you need to mod the mobo.

EDIT: What problems you having BTW, as I was considering getting that RAM you have?

Just won't run stable at 1T perhaps?

I just got this board and just installed it along with a 3700+ and my PC dont boot, it switches on and all the fans are running but it wont show anything on my monitor.

Hiper Type R 580W PSU - same as you
I noticed on the board there is a 20pin power thing and a seperate 4 pin power thing, on my psu i have a connection for both 20 pin and 4 pin, do i plug the 4 pin in or just the 20 pin.
