**The ASrock 939dual-SATA2 (ULi M1695) thread**

well you can get 274 if you type that in, and that will be the max on that bios. Run your Vram voltage at High as well and perhaps best at 2T

Use CPU-z to check things (if you didnt know)

Yes mate in the bios, and there is often no change in the reading on the actual ddr booster. I have now put the memory in slots 1 and 2 and then ddr booster in slot 4, to see if there is any difference.

What program do you use to check the ddr voltages in windows? This would be a godsend if I could do that!

I use speedfan to read volt and temperatures but I don't know any program to read memory volts, do you?

What I don't understand is why my opteron is stable at 10x274 and the memory at 228mhz error free (166 divider) with memtest but in windows fails prime95 and sometimes superpi. If I use 133 divider (about 190mhz for memory) everything is stable. I know about the issues with 1T but memory has not errors with memtest.

maybe a corrupted windows can make prime95 fail?????

edit: I run memtest last night for 10 hours with mem at 228 Mhz and 3-3-2-9 timmings and got 3 errors in pass 28 in the test 8 :o

Thinking to try the last beta bios (No 6?). By the way I think my mobo is the first revision (came with bios 1.2) but I am not having problems with my SATA 2 drive

Best (only?) way to read the mem voltage is with a multimeter.

I believe the measurement point is shown on the site that shows you how to do the Vdimm mod.

Whats the best way to install everything? I might reformat due to my printer not working.

Would you say :

Chipset
direct x
xp updates
graphics
sound

etc?

Cheers, where do i get the beat bios? And every time i go to certain items in windows i get (Windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close) is this cos its now unstable at 2.74 or is that just **** windows, cos im jus about to put my foot through the computer if i dont sort it soon!
:D

You should run some stability programs like prime95 for a good few hours to check stability.

I know that with my opteron 146 I was able to reach 2.8ghz on 1.45 volts, but ran prime95 and it errored after something like 3-4 hours. So then I had to do the vcore mod to get more voltage and stability.

i did prime for bout 3-4 hours with no problems an mem test but not for long. is it the stability that is causing my problems?

just tryed again and prime failed after 2 hours. what do i need to change in the bios?

It could be that your cpu isnt getting enough voltage, so you could try that, although I dont know how well your memory is doing and at what speed they are at. Putting up the vcore will increase cpu temperature mostly, although for these opterons it doesnt seem to increase it that much.

Mem divider at 133

Vcore?? newbie still getting to grips with overclocking.
Cheers for the help tho
on Cpu-z my voltage is moving all over the place between 1.4-1.5

This mobo allows a max of 1.45V for that opteron 146 (you need to do a vcore mod to get any higher).

Try setting the CPU voltage (vcore) to 1.45V.

You'll need to do a vcore mod to get any higher. I need 1.55V to be fully stable at 2.8Ghz. The mod should be mentioned in one of these pages here.

Maybe you have a temperature problem causing instability.
