**The ASrock 939dual-SATA2 (ULi M1695) thread**

Ordered my board, plus a Venice 3000+ and Antec SLK1650B. Will arrive on Friday. Can't wait!

It will replace my Shuttle SN45G system with an XP-M 2500+, which recently had problems with the motherboard. Once I'm all set, gonna go through the painful process of selling my 7-month-old CPU :(

Hi,

Anyone running this board with OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series EL-DDR CAS2 memory ?

I've got a problem where the PC just appears to go off, but the fans etc keep spinning. Just a black screen. You can power it off, but when you power it on, the keyboard lights flash, the fans spin, the DVD drive powers up, but nothing. After 3-4 attempts it does boot up, saying the last few boots failed and it would go back to default settings.

Any ideas ?

I installed this board on Friday, and it ran Prime for 4 hours, and ran 2 Superpi 32m OK, but then started doing this on the Sunday. It did it once while i was just in the BIOS setup as well, so i don't think the problem is OS related.

Oh, its a 3500 venice, and i've taken out the video card and soundcard. Its now running on a 9800pro i had lying around, but still does the same thing.

Help !!!

OK guys. Can someone answer me a question. I have been using this board for a while now, but for some reason it is overvolting on every supply.

3.3v - 3.34v
5v - 5.12v
12v - 12.26v

Is this normal? I can't find any way to turn off over volting on the motherboard. Also I have the problem whereby when i set the voltage on the cpu at say 1.35v it will fluctuate in CPU-z from 1.328v to 1.372v. Cool and Quiet is disabled. This is really bugging me..

cheapo board, cheapo voltage regulation.
best way to help tighten the cpu voltage regulation is to put heatsinks on the mosfets and on the voltage regulator. deffo helps.

Sounds like you have a dodgy mobo. Have you got another mobo you can try your components in? If they work fine in there, then it's your mobo that's the problem.

You have a similar problem to what i have now, and almost the exact problem i had with my last board i just added more case fans and the problem seemed to go away i think something was overheating.

happens to me all the time, screen goes off and the pc is still doing its stuff. easily sorted though if you go to power options in control panel and set the monitor power off to never. :p

ASrock 939Dual-SATA2 beta 7 is out: no more 274 limit

ASrock 939Dual-SATA2 beta 7 is out

This bios breaks the 274HTT. Looks like the code is corrected (at last)

I tried and is true.

Now at 280x10 priming ;)

Time to do the v mod

right just tested the bios and indeed it allows over 274htt to boot and no cold boot issues were present.
however this beta 7 bios was not stable for me at my current 292htt with all settings being the same as beta 2 bios.

so now i have gone back to the beta 2 bios.

odd thing is that the beta 7 bios did the same thing that the beta 2 bios does if clocked higher than a htt of 292. so i get the same crash with beta7 at 292htt but beta2 is stable at 292htt.

i wonder if there is any difference in beta1 bios?

does anyone know what difference there is between beta1 and beta2 ocw bioses?

Is it just me or does the CMOS Clear jumper on this board not work?

While priming last night I was also foolishly surfing the net.. which caused the machine to restart...... to a black screen!

Therefore I though.. its all good just clear CMOS..

Nope.. won't work.

Tried reseating the memory module in a different slot..

Nope..

Tried cold booting..

Nope.

I've now removed the CMOS battery, graphics card, Memory and put the jumper on the clear pins.. and removed all power.

Tbh.. this bard has a lot of potential.. but I'm getting a bit stressed with it now :(

cmos jumper works fine for me.
anyway just tested the new bios and so far so good running same settings as beta 2 and no problems

All sorted i think, i set the memory to 2t (was auto) and the voltage to high (was auto)

Ran all night OK, and did a 8 hour prime95 OK.

Should I be seeing this?

I'm not using raid at all? is it slowing my drives down?

That new beta7 bios is nice I must say!

I now have no cold boot issues which is excellent, and the bios doesnt crash randomly and seems more responsive. Also cpu-z memory SPD now shows properly, although its showing my OCZ 200mhz 2-3-2-5 2gig memory as SPD 2.5-3-2-5 @ 200Mhz, anyone else get this?

There is also another problem in that I now cant go above 280mhz htt on the 133 divider @ 2-3-2-5, with the beta2 I was able to get to 285 stable, even 290 would boot. Now 285 doesnt even post.

Ive not tried more relaxed timings yet, but really do hope I can get a bit higher, this bios seems more stable than the beta2.

Anyone know what kind of memory OCZ 3200 platinum is? Is it TCCD? I dont know whether its better with low volts or high volts (I have a ddr booster).
