The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

My Swift has now died :/

I noticed a bit of flickering playing games at 144hz today (kinda like the backlight flickering). Turned it to 120hz and it was ok.

Later put the PC to sleep, the monitor went to sleep within a few seconds.

On powering it back on, all I get is the below, regardless of if I have the cable connected or not, or the monitor output enabled or not. I've tried both GPUs and different MiniDP ports on them.

The OSD won't open.

Help?!

@rtho782, that looks like something monitors display when they are 'stuck' on a DP signal that they aren't processing correctly. Have you got anything else connected to your GPU? Also turning the monitor off at the wall for a bit then restarting the computer. Then plugging the monitor in again and turning it back on.

Anyone else getting the "out of range" bug. I have to disconnect cables and power etc to get gsync / monitor to work in full screen.

Apparently it is a bug that will be fixed in NVidia drivers?

That is an old DP bug, used to plague the Samsung SA750 and SA950 series. Can't you just cycle to the source or turn the monitor off then on again to correct it?

It is working now, it just went AWOL for a while.

As stated by "MarshallR@ASUS"
"It's a driver bug that's being addressed in an upcoming Nvidia update. Please bear with us."

I'm not sure I buy that, and neither did others on the thread. I am getting a severe sense of Déjà Vu as noted in my earlier post. This sort of issue is not isolated to G-SYNC monitors at all.

This exact issue could be slightly different, however. If you can't sort it by cycling source or turning the monitor off then on again with the power button then it is a slightly different issue, hopefully one that Nvidia can fix. Otherwise it's something that Nvidia are unlikely to be able to fix with a driver. Or something they should have addressed a long time ago but somehow didn't/couldn't.

It does the same even with no DP cable connected. I've left it unplugged for a few hours and tried again to no avail, and I've plugged it into my laptop to no avail :(

Edit: OCUK offered to collect the monitor but I've been waiting for this thing for months and that means a Wednesday return at the absolute earliest. I'm impatient so I'm about to embark on a 250 mile round trip to take it back to them instead...

When my monitor grey screens with black lines, I can't get the monitor control panel either. I have to either unplug the DP lead and back in again or cycle the computer.
I think I have fixed it now as it only did it in 2d mode when overclocking. So I have set a 2d profile in MSI after burner and a 3d profile and they are
both on AUTO so my 2d profile becomes active when not using 3d which seems to have cured it. Something to do with the cards mid profile (500mhz) voltage.

My stuck pixel has returned, with a little mate near him that I didn't spot before, noooooooo! Going to give it until Monday and then RMA it. One thing I have gotten over is the price - gaming is just brilliant on it. :)

Sad times....

Ordered back on the 24th as a pre-order. Stock finally came in and was shipped out to me.

Checking the DPD status, it was "on it's way to your nearest depot". Then suddenly the status changed to "Package on it's way back to OVERCLOCKERS".

Chased this up with support and was told that there was an issue with the invoice and that they would inspect and re-dispatch to me.

Great, I can deal with that, I've waited over a month I can wait a little longer.

Next thing I am being refunded for an RMA which I had no part of and the support agent simply says "you will have to reorder".

Bearing in mind that the money could take 7 days to be back in my account and there is a stock shortage I'm feeling very disappointed.

Not even so much as an apology and acknowledgement of a mistake. Spent over 4K and have bigger and better plans to build using components from Overclockers UK as I have always done exclusively, but this is really pushing me to start looking somewhere else.

Apparently Overclockers don't want my money....

For the 2nd time now, my package after having been sent out is "On it's way back to Overclockers", according the DPD delivery status.

First time the reason was "packaging/invoice issue", so this time, assuming it's the same reasoning, then someone must be FULLY STAR OUT SWEAR WORDS with me. No way this happens twice in a row to the same customer like that.

Anyway, lets see if I'm just told to "reorder" again....

Not sure what other outlets are good for computer component shopping in UK, but I may have to find a new supplier, sadly.
