Bit worried there's some sort of design defect with the panel as fair few people on ROG forum said they had it too.

Been over a week without a peep from them, wonder if I should just return to the vendor and cancel order or get elsewhere!

How long did you have it before it popped like that?

Trine 2 would not work, it was flickering all over the shop.

Just tried Trine 2, worked flawlessly, some random flicker on the first menu, game play was spot on though.

Been giving it a lot of thought over the last few weeks - from my perspective I think 1440p at approx 27-30" and 120+Hz is the sweet spot for me but I'm also kind of hoping someone like Samsung or maybe AOC will come out with one.

Hoping to see similair but cheaper too, the swift seems like the ideal screen for me but just cant afford that much. Currently on a very old va panel benq at 1920x1200. Sli 780 is a bit too much at this res.

Depends on the characteristics of the pixel transitions, input latency, etc. 144Hz is no good if it comes with 16+ms delay and residual image problems with fast movement.

I am a bit reluctant to spend the extra whether real or imagined it feels like I'd be paying extra for the ROG/swift branding which I don't really care for.

You're not paying extra for the branding - rather that it's the first of it's kind and there is no competition in site.

I wall mounted mine and the fact that it isn't red and black is good, can pretty much ignore the fact it has ROG in its name and just enjoy it for the gaming performance!

They will likely have a stuck pixel or some other small flaw.

Buy new as if it does have stuck/dead pixels you won't be able to return it. Unless you can DSR clearance items.

Also 90 days warranty vs 3 years warranty.

Took delivery of mine today - Wow what a beast.

I am however getting what I can only describe as "Brightness Flicker" - Is this the GSYNC issue which people have been talking about? In which case I need to wait for new drivers from nvidia?

Or could this be something else? It only happens in game and seems to be when a lot is happening / changing on screen.
