The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

As soon as I receive my refund from X I'm going to pull the trigger. I ordered one from elsewhere but it had a dead pixel. X let me return it but not as faulty, so it was at my own expense (luckily Parcel2go have that free offer running at the moment).

It might be an extra £25 but that dead/stuck pixel 3 day thing sounds totally worth it. I just want a clean display. Should have jumped on the pre-orders though.

Wait 24hrs, I might be getting 200 now tomorrow and if that happens I will reduce our price. :)

thats actually very good feedback and based on this i'm going to pull the trigger and join the gsync club

While the 4K TNs are really good for TNs they quickly are apparently not as good for image quality if you move away from dead center viewing heh. If you don't mind a little gamma shift most of the upcoming high end gaming TNs and the 4K panels aren't really that big a step down image quality wise for gaming purposes.

The concern I had was over the quality of the tn pannel, had an Asus 120 hz that claimed to be superior, which was awful so then went to the xl2410t then to 2720t benq before swapping to a qnix overclocked as I value image quality since I don't play many twitchy shooters anymore.

While I don't expect the colours to be as good, viewing angles are not an issue as I sit head on - from what I understand is the colour is pretty good along with the added bonus of gsync, so I feel its worth a go.

Talk about frying pan to fire :| never rated the xl24x0t on image quality though nice low latency/responsive but terrible colors.

Cheers bud and it is here and setup (till I wall mount it)

Looking good Greg:cool: are you going to have time to do some 3D testing? would be great to hear your thoughts because opinion seems mixed:)

I will but I need to buy an emitter. My Asus VG278H came with one already built in, so I didn't need one. I will be scouring for the best prices, as I am a little skint at the mo :D

so pretty.... not sure about the pinks walls though!

Blame my youngest, it was her bedroom before I nicked it off her :D

Looking forward to your review Greg:) the emitters seem to be a bit patchy on availability with £99 being about the average. I wonder when Gibbo will get some more stock?

I'm dangerously close to caving in and ordering one of these. It's the gsync more than anything, as I'm incredibly fussy about any sort of stutter.

It's just the bloody TN aspect still keeping me back. I've only used ips and VA for the last 5 years, so I'm just really skeptical going by what other people say.
I guess the only way I can truly know about TN is to get one and judge for myself.

Even 2nd hand emitters are like rocking horse, luckily I remembered I had one buried somewhere, though for the amount of time i spent looking I shouldve just ordered a new one lol
