The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Yer, I have been looking and clicking it off then looking and clicking it off but so many things and user feedback have sold me. Sure £700 is a lot but for this feature set, I am not grumbling.

Can I ask either of you guys how you find the 'TN ness' of the swift? Do you have experience of IPS screens. Do you have the swift sat next to an ips on your desk top?

I'm itching for a new monitor upgrade but I keep holding off for an IPS or VA screen with gsync.

I should have done it from the off and when they were £30 cheaper but I thought I had will power on holding out.... Sadly not and seeing Neil owning me in BF4 tells me that there might be something to this G-Sync malarky :D

He's always on BF4, that's why he's been owning you. Fingers all nimbled up :D
I've been on FF14 constantly, might jump on BF4 tomorrow with you lot if i'm finished early enough.

ULMB for BF4 though Greg ;) I think that's what Neil's been using as well, though he had pulse on 100 whereas when i was playing with them lot i had to down to 30, big difference in blur, shame the picture is dark as ****! :D

I have an Ips right next to it, and also recently had a Samsung 4k TN as well

The Samsung 4k was all but indistinguishable from the Ips, it was an incredibly good TN
The swift is not quite up to the Samsung, but it is still very good, for gaming and general usage it is more than good enough, I have absolutely no qualms about ditching the Ips in favour of the ROG

To put this in to context, 3 years ago I did a side by side with a 120hz TN and a 1440p IPS and the IPS won, but this time round between IPS, 144hz/Gsync and 4K it is the 144hz/Gsync that has won me over.

Not used an ips for gaming, but the swifts panel is far far superior to the Asus 120hz tn I was using previously.

Hi there

ONLY 3 left!
But 100 more arriving tomorrow! :D

Roughly, to date, how many of these have you shifted?

Hey ^JP^, what mount do you have there please bud? I like the look of that.

It is one of the older Humanscale arms from about 8 years ago, still works a treat though.
If you look on their website you can build your own with plenty of options depending how you want to mount it and what adjustability you want.

So nice to be able to bang around on the desk and put my feet up without the monitor shaking around.

Thanks and will give that a look. I have a basic swing wall mount but want something a little more versatile :)

As soon as I receive my refund from X I'm going to pull the trigger. I ordered one from elsewhere but it had a dead pixel. X let me return it but not as faulty, so it was at my own expense (luckily Parcel2go have that free offer running at the moment).

It might be an extra £25 but that dead/stuck pixel 3 day thing sounds totally worth it. I just want a clean display. Should have jumped on the pre-orders though.
