The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Cheers Gregster! I forgot to add bioshock infinite, which is one I tested a bit more. I too found stutter with that, and it does feel like it's when you go into a new area. This was one of the first games I noticed that this only happened with SLI though. Have you tried bioshock on one card only? You should fine its smooth as silk.

Also, please do try out the xbox 360 controller with a few games. Slow panning round in BF4 is where it's showing a real judder problem.

It's only teething troubles really. I've had this monitor a week tomorrow, and these minor niggles aside, it continues to impress me. Titanfall at 120hz with gsync is amazing as just one example.

So I have tried BF4 on an empty server and used a 360 pad to pan round and no stutter or jerks at all. I have frames capped at 135 and running full ultra at 1440P and honestly can't see any faults. I have a solid yellow line and where I am frame capped, the green line is up and down. Maybe some more testing needed but you sure it isn't server/ping/internet problems you are seeing?

Yer, interested if it is just a me thing.

Lol Arcane and I pretty much hid the CC up but spilled the beans when I got drunk :D

Someone else on here had the same issue as you. What's your method for setting up 3d?

Nvcp:

Resolution: 2560x1440@120hz
Gsync: disabled
Sync: none

Monitor; ulmb disabled

Trine 2:

3d: nvidia

Pretty sure that is how I have it set as well. I will try it again after watching the Tom Peterson interview on the new 980/970 tech.

Cool, I'll double check my settings when I finally get to turn my machine on, maybe worth noting I loaded a previous save game up rather then starting fresh.

Edit: Chuck me a link to that video too :)

I've spent ages fiddling trying to get settings I like (and having found this easily on the Samsung 4K, I knew it must be possible on this one too and I wasn't letting "but TN" get in the way)

On the monitor: Brightness 40 (30 at night), Contrast 50, Colour Temp User (R95, G100, B100)

Nvidia Control Panel: Display: Adjust desktop Colour Settings: Use Nvidia Settings
Brightness: 40%
Contrast: 45%
Gamma: 0.8

those are the settings that work best for me, your mileage may vary

Yeah i read that but i didn't see any osd setting only the icc profile.

That works nicely for me :)

Finally it's arrived.... tempted to set it up now, but will wait till I get the rest of my X99 build and do it all at once......

Got mine set up today! So whats the best setting with the hz rate? if I'm only getting around 70fps with gsync on is it better to keep it at 60hz or just wack it on 144?

also whats the best way to know when to not use gync but the ulbm mode? I'm new to all this :P

Stick it to 144hz when possible as it should keep the frame refresh time constantly at around 7ms, 60hz would keep it at 16.6ms :)

Also if you get a game that forces 60hz with no in game options to change it (fifa 15!) hit the refresh overclock button on your monitor (twice!) with in game frame limiter disabled and it should now force and lock to 144hz/fps.

Settled on Andy birds settings for colors etc... only brightness notched up to 50 on the monitor...I'm in a bright room.
