The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Guys quick question. I ordered the rog swift yesterday and I just noticed that my 690 has a mini dp... My damn luck. I don't want to bump into any kind of resolution or refresh rate problems so is there a tested cable or adaptor to use? I assume it has to be v1.2 right?

There is no such thing as a DP or miniDP 1.2 cable. They all are and any should work. With some monitors some cheaper cables can cause issues such as signal drop etc. I would recommend StarTech MiniDP to DP cables (6ft). I am using one with the SWIFT right now.

Guys,

Need a bit of advice, I have an order for 2x MSI 970's to run on this monitor, but am really tempted to switch it to a single MSI 980 and avoid any issues with SLI. Any ideas? Thanks!

Got fed up with Waiting for the 4k Acer G-sync monitor so bought the swift today ...

What type of display port cable comes with it .. std one that'll fit in a GtX 980 or the Mini DP

It comes with a standard cable. I have the gtx 970 and it fit mine okay that has a standard display port.

If you want 120fps+ in FPS games at 1440p go with the 970s. ;)

I run SLI 780's with this and haven't had any problems so far. Also - How good is this monitor. Was a little paranoid buying one because I have a U27HM but wow it feels so much better. Best purchase so far this year. :D

I see the price has gone back up..

Sucks as I've told myself I'll order as soon as they're 599!

I think it all depends when Acer sorts out their supply channels:)

I think it's going to be sooner rather than later, watch the 'This Weekend' and 'Today only' deals Uncle Gibbo may be tempted to do some deals as he's been hoarding the stock;):D

Well I caved and got one :( What a stunning display! I'm only running a single 780 GTX, would I really benefit that much getting a second for SLI?

Depends what you play.

a single is perfectly fine but then ocuk did some great 780 deals so thought why not and added a second.

Received mine today .. mn i have missed 1440p!! stunning display but the base is massive so on my small desk i feel like im sitting on top of it lol

Yes - the base is a lot deeper than on most monitors. It brings the screen closer to my eyes than I'd like too, and my desk isn't really all that small.
