The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Depends what you play.

a single is perfectly fine but then ocuk did some great 780 deals so thought why not and added a second.

Play a mixture of stuff, Bf4, Rome TW, DCS World, FSX. Not the most demanding games tbh.

Thats what I was thinking however as my rig is currently a mini ATX in a 250D I need to get a new mobo and case :( just not sure if it's worth it or not.

stunning display but the base is massive so on my small desk i feel like im sitting on top of it lol
Maybe you could wall mount it....;)
I think you can also get desk mounts where the mount clamps on to the rear of a desk...

Edit: Just found this desk mount stand below for up to 27" monitors for £15.99

If I wanted to run Nvidia surround with 3 x swifts would GTX 980's cut it or would I need more VRAM ? so maybe wait for the next titan or 8GB cards etc. I play BF4 and hardline when it comes out so I can be patient lol.

Thanks

Yeah I know :) I used to run surround on BC2 and I miss it :D Been saving for ages to afford them. I just want to get the GPU's. Im not after UBER quality say medium on bf4 and at least 60FPS. Do you think I should wait for the next titan ?

When I got back into pc nearly 2 year back I ran 3 screens on amd card and just found it buggy as hell did look awesome though and 3 swift will look amazeballs

But won't the g-sync struggle on 3 screens ?

Im not sure there is not a lot of info out there. Pretty sure im going to wait for a card with more VRAM. I guess I will have to look at 2 blank screens for sometime :(

Can anyone recommend some small speakers to go with this monitor. Some that would fit underneath? I have limited desk space and currently have a couple of desktop speakers laid horizontally. Not ideal bit they fit nicely under the screen with it in its lowest position.

Cheers

Might be better off asking in the sound and audio sub forum matey, some sound advice from those guys :)

Edit: 'sound advice' was unintentional I promise :p

Ok so is this the monitor at fault or the GPU(s)

Note the bright part in the desktop pic pulsing next to the HP UPDATE box, that's not the camera moving.

And at the end when looking at taskbar you can see the horizontal line of pixels pulsing.

I am still getting this problem intermittently and have swapped the GPUs around.

Only thing to try next is put a 680 back in and see if it does it.

Right now it's gone but it can come back whenever.

I am tempted to think its a 9 series driver issue

I couldn't be happier with the Swift, such an awesome piece of kit. The ulmb mode does give me eyestrain if I use it for long periods in a dark room, not that it's stopping me though. :D

Is that Saunton in your sig ?

FREEZINGCOLD!!!... No honestly the waters blooming freezing!!!:p

Guess again good sir!! (or click on the spoiler:o:D)

Its great to hear everyone (mostly:p) is enjoy the Swift. I initially felt a little queasy paying early adopter tax but it was worth every penny:)

Great to hear some discussion on speakers as that's my next purchase choice. This monitor deserves better than the 20 year old trust ones I'm currently using:o:cool:

Thanks 3t3p

Unfortunately they are going to be too big due to desk space. I just need something compact that will fit underneath the monitor. Here is what I have at the moment

Dont think the Swift has shielding, I'm hoping your speakers do with them being that close ?

I have my system plugged into a Sony amp and 5.1 surround speakers coupled with this screen I couldn't be happier as for the centre speaker I velcro fastened it under the desk
