The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Sounds nice, will be interesting to see how it stacks up with the swift for motion clarity and responsiveness.

This. I cant see it being worth trading a rog swift to, but it is nice to see gsync getting some IPS love for those that prefer them.

I would say that monitor deserves its own thread.

Dunno this could be the death of the premium priced TN

I actually prefer TN for gaming, Ive had overclocked IPS and they dont come close to the swift. Plenty of room to drop the price on the swift too. I would wait for reviews and user reports before claiming the "death" of anything :D

It is good to see the range of options for Gsync expanding.

dont know about deffo, the TN version maybe but the IPS can see as its NEW and world first a premium on it.... always add something new to put a premo on it

Absolutely. If Asus can sell a 144hz TN panel monitor for £600 this is likely to be more. Especially if Acer are the only horse in town.

At least it removes the need for making any compromises when buying a monitor now that you can have 1440p/IPS and 144hz/Gsync on the same display.

It won't stay that way for long....no competition means high pricing...the a swift will have to come down in price .

This tbh, IPS/VA panels are always going to win out on image quality. But loose out when it comes to response times.

While its not much of a guide as this new IPS could be a whole different story - I've got one of the 21:9 Dell IPS that can overclock to 75+Hz and while it does stabilise incredibly quickly on fast view changes i.e. pull a 180 degree flick and its almost instantly fully clear its not even in the same league when it comes to tracking an object in motion as the Swift. Good enough for singleplayer but lacking for fast paced multiplayer.

Well I'v had a few days fault free with this monitor since buying it last week.

Until today!

Stated my PC up this morning and the panel is split 50/50.
The left side is perfect but the right side has full length vertical green lines.

Anyone else had this issue ?
