That would be rubbish. Really rubbish. Surely they can't send out refurbished models with faults like that?
I am sure it will be fine, just I was expecting one direct from Asus.

Well I just received an email from Asus saying my replacement has been sent via DPD but no tracking was provided and apparently it could be within the next three working days.
I really hope they gave the the mobile number I provided to DPD so I get a notification as to when it will arrive!
Edit: Just received email and text from DPD, my replacement is coming from a company called "Let Me Repair UK", now dreading getting one with dead pixels and other faults

If you do have any issues let me know and I'll get it sorted out for you, but it should be in full working order etc.
How long does it take for the novelty to ware off ? I'm tempted but might just wait for the acer IPS ....Asus warranty sounds Kak is it as bad as acers ?

We wouldn't knowingly send out anything with faults like that, no. Not saying it can't happen, but it certainly shouldn't. If it does, we'll get it sorted out.
RMA Update:
DPD just dropped off the replacement Swift.
Firstly the driver who I know quite well and always have a quick chat with was puzzled by the fact I was told to have the faulty monitor unboxed but luckily I had the box and duct tape ready to go so he was off without any delay.
So I think some more communication is needed there but no problem for me.
Now on to the good stuff, I have examined the box and monitor and as far as I can tell I have been given a brand new one and not a refurbishment, so I now have two sets of adapters and cables as I kept the old ones.
The tape on the box was original with no sign of it being removed and replaced.
All the little plastic protector bits on the back of the monitor are still on, the rubber feet on the stand look untouched (no dust or bits from a desk). And the screen is spotless, not even a bit of dust let alone a fingerprint.
So far I have plugged it in and checked the text which is now perfect again and done a dead/stuck pixel test of which there are zero! (Phew, big sigh of relief there!)
I will calibrate the colours and luminance later with my i1Display Pro and then test G-Sync and ULMB.
For now though I am an extremely happy Asus customer
I still want the IPS version when launched
i have a similar issue. I turn the monitor off(lights off) after shutting pc down and then it could be anywhere from 5-20min the monitor will turn itself on and getting no signal the screen will go off but the light on the monitar stays orange or white
Had my replacement monitor arrive Thursday as well! So far so good, looks like I also got a new one and its got a more recent date of production which gives me more confidence it shouldn't break like my first two did!
Unfortunately I had exactly the same issue others have said - the email said to not package the monitor and hand the driver the monitor and stand separately, completely unpackaged. When the driver arrived lets just say he wasn't amused. I tried to explain but it looked like I wasn't the first. Felt a bit sorry for him if the truth was known.
As it was being collected from my work address and not from home, I didn't have the original packaging to hand. So with the assistance of the driver we stuck it in a brown box I had spare and put some tape around it... I doubt very much it will arrive back in one piece.
In all the RMA process was second to none, I've never had a RMA last 4 days from raising the request to getting a replacement part. Although by default can ASUS request that the customer place the monitor in its original packaging? Sure this might be wrong, but damn its easier taking something out of a box than packaging something up.
Just got myself a ROG Swift, coupled with 2 Titan X's, going to be good.
Looking to get a new ROG myself... but the horror stories scare me. I hope you get a good one mate
