The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Either one of those thunderflys decided to kick the bucket under the screen, or I have about 7-8 dead pixels appear. I really can't tell.

:/

Take a picture from very close range, and then zoom in on the picture. You'll need a decent focus and steady hands, but the larger image might help determine which it is.

update on swift received it yesterday sent email last thursday very pleased with quick replacement unfortunately it has 1 blue pixel just off centre of screen no big deal it will do until i find what im going to replace it with.

Looks like my PSU has decided to give up too. Was working just fine up until about 2 days ago. Whenever it's shut down for a night it just refuses to power on itself, but if I leave it idle an hour or so it powers on.

I've read the quickest route is to contact Asus directly, but has anyone in Ireland had experience with the timeframe? Or should I just send it back to OCUk?

Found out why I was having gsync module crashes awhile back - thought it was dying a couple of days back as it kept powering off and when I did get an image text was fuzzy, etc. turns out the displayport connector at the end connected to the GPU is degrading :S I can reproduce the crashes, display going into standby and fuzzy text, etc. waggling it about a little (does the same in another GPU as well so not the GPU port). Guess I should replace the lead.

"Components fail in everything from cheap hardware to high end expensive hardware."

I agree with this to a point but a lot of today's hardware is crap when it comes to build quality. I still have a Mitsubushi 19" CRT that looks as good as it did when I bought it (from OCUk many many years ago)

Pah, I raise you an Amstrad CPC 464 green screen which still turns on and works to this day. ;)

Got a Wyse 800x600 colour CRT somewhere off a long defunct 286 system that still works and looks fairly new - date stamped 1984.

Can't see it until there is proper competition and/or tech moves on - I'd imagine it would hold at £550+ until into next year.

Once the IPS PG279Q is released, it will likely drop, but the Swift will still have the 3D feature, so that's likely to keep the price north of £500 I'd say. There is no other competing panel for it really after all.

Hey guys,

Picked up another ROG swift on the members market after missing my old one. ( love having this thing back already )

However im having a issue with it.

The seller had no issues with the monitor himself and i have no reason from his post to doubt that he is a honest chap and truly believe this. So i thought i would post here to see what you guys think about hte monitor.

This is being plugged into a gtx 970 one of my spare ones from a sale wanting to upgrade but going to wait for next nvidia cards now i think. The card has always been a little bit sketchy however nothing game breaking for it.

However now with it running on the ROG im having more issues.

1. The monitor occasionally flickers black and them comes back ( windows makes a little ding sound this makes me feel like its graphics card related. )

2. Every now and then the monitor goes crazy bad quality like its pixels are aligned wrong or something and the only way to correct this is by changing the refresh rate on the monitor, as you can see in the video below turning it off and on does not solve this. ( i zoomed in to a part of the monitor so it was clearer to see )

What do you guys think, shall i try a different DP Cable or maybe it's the GPU?

EDIT : For note i am using windows 10 with the latest nvidia drivers.
