The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Well mine went faulty on Saturday so am in the process of an RMA. Text has gone blurry at the center and left hand side of the screen. The far right side is unaffected. It kinda looks like I am running it in the wrong resolution. I have had since October 2014.

Well my second monitor has developed a line of dead pixels in the upper right quadrant, hopefully 3rd times a charm! Sent the RMA request off last night, will let you guys know how it goes.

Anyone's GSync 'active' (Red) light constantly on still btw? Ever since the first main Nvidia drivers for GTA V came out it's been like it, saw a few others had the same problem in this thread back then also.

Obviously not a major issue but annoying atleast.

Had mine today.

Can't seem to select 144Hz on my desktop (neither in games). It goes up to 120Hz only.
Using the displayport that came with it.

Using an R9 290 card, will eventually move over to Nvidia next week probably.

How do I get 144Hz?

Gsync works on desktop/windowed now, so its not really an error... If I disable gsync entirely it goes back to white

It really bugged me having the red light on all the time when that first happened. So I went back to the drivers before it happened. :D

From what I've read, the red light thing didn't happen to everyone. Some still have the white light on desktop. I'm still confused whether or not its just a bug, or It's something Nvidia did on purpose. I mean the whole point of the different light's is to tell the user what mode is active on the monitor; which leads me to believe that its a bug.

Really need to RMA my PSU, getting fed up with the monitor just turning itself on and I don't like leaving it in standby all the time

I'm in the middle of PSU RMA debacle at the moment too... :(

Well I'm pretty annoyed! I got my replacement yesterday and this one has groups of 2 dead pixels dotted around the screen. I've counted about 10 x 2 black marks most noticeable on a white background. My guess is that this was sent back for that reason and they have just shipped it out to me as is. The box is really tatty too.

I saw on the ROG forum some people buying after market power adaptors off ebay. They said their monitors work fine now.

Also, some people have had replacement power adaptors from Asus that solve the problem, and others not.

So some turned to after market and that solves the problem.

I'm not sure whether or not to buy an after market PSU or wait for an RMA.

Cool thanks, I will take a look online for 3rd party ones

I'm intrigued to know if you made any progress with this? I've just raised an RMA for exactly the same thing as my monitor keeps turning itself on at random as well :(

got some flies stuck in my screen and asus will RMA mine, dont ask me how they got there. 2 weeks after still waiting for a courier to come exchange it (just messaged them to see whats taking so long). They said the courier will exchange my monitor at the door which is great but still no word from the supposed courier.

Very tempted to strip the monitor but this will void my warranty :(. Can still use it just darn annoying.

I've been lazy and not done it yet :( Going to try and get it done today as it's really bugging me now

That sucks, anyone know if you can the PSU separately? I don't think I can live without a monitor for that long :D At least then I can just RMA the old one and have a spare (for when it happens again)

You can buy them separately if you google the model number, but the Asus ones are £50 (and as we've seen are prone to failing) where as the ebay ones are £20
