The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Anyone's GSync 'active' (Red) light constantly on still btw? Ever since the first main Nvidia drivers for GTA V came out it's been like it, saw a few others had the same problem in this thread back then also.

Obviously not a major issue but annoying atleast.

I wonder if the g-sync red light on all the time is ever going to be fixed??? It's been like this for months now. C'mon Nv fix it asap please????

Yep, if you disable gsync it should turn white, it does on mine... As above, they've enabled gsync for desktop and windowed use so it will basically be on all the time, so its not really a bug as such

I had to get my PSU replaced - took about 10 days over all.

Just seen this, I'm a bit confused by the RMA message I've received and wonder how yours went? The RMA looks to be standard text suggesting I need to give it back unboxed to the courier when they drop off a replacement, but it specifically says not to include the PSU. As I've only asked for a new PSU I assume that's all that's coming.

Did you give the courier your old PSU back or did a new one literally just get posted over?

No it's not saying I have to send the PSU first, it says you give the faulty item to the courier when your new one arrives. In my case that's the PSU, however, the same message specifically says not to include the PSU :P

It's obviously just generic text for if you were doing something like the entire monitor but I'm curious as to how it actually went for someone who has done the same thing.

Received my new swift today, and first thing I notice is a strange mark on the monitor just over 1 cm long and a dot to the left of it right bang in the middle of the screen. Its very much visible on games but even more so on white backgrounds, no idea what it is but i know it's inside the monitor.
This definitely doesn't seem acceptable to me however I'm just wondering maybe if anyone has had a similar issue and managed to fix it other than returning it?
It doesn't seem like dead pixels, if anything I would have actually preferred dead pixels to this. I tried taking some pictures of it but camera is bit of a ****** to capture it properly but it looks even more dreadful in person as it just stands out clear as day.

receiving my replacement monday so i hope mine is ok :(. Looks to me like some dried liquid or something behind the first protective panel. if you look directly down on the monitor standing up does it look more noticeable? if so then yeah it will be. Not much i guess you can do other than returning it or taking it apart and cleaning it away. Which could void the warranty if the sticker is still on the panel.

I don't know if it did look any more visible from different viewing angles, I would check again if I could however I've already boxed it up again ready for sending back. Just decided its something I definitely won't be able to ignore and I can barely find any hints to what it may be online, so the logical thing is to send it back while I can really.

Regarding your exchange, in my past experience as daft as it may sound or not I've always just unboxed the replacement at the door and put the defect back in the same box he brought and let the dpd man handle the rest, had no issues so far so figured its alright i think(?).

I got the same generic message.

I emailed support and the guy told me to call the help line to sort out another PSU...

Mine has started to make lines like that down the left of the screen. I originally turned it off and disconnected all cables/reconnected them and it seems "ok" at the moment. Could this be a sign of it failing?

EDIT: Doesn't seem to be noticeable until I now go in game. It is still there though :(

Tonight was the night, just playing Rust and it flickered like crazy and then went black. Now it won't display a picture. Unplugged the HDMI and can't get it to display any menus etc when turning on.

I'm about to go on holiday tomorrow for 2 weeks in Spain so will have to wait until I get back. My only issue is that I don't have the original box. How do the RMAs work?

You wont need the original box. The courier sends you the panel. you take new panel out the box and put your faulty one in on the spot.

DPD just delivered my replacement ROG swift :), Just got it running and happy, happy that its running perfectly. No dead pixels or other flaws etc.

Very easy exchange process, DPD man opened the box he brought and exchanged with my old swift. Now to enjoy some BF4 :D.

Well I have given up on this monitor completely had 3 all had problems. Shame as I really liked it but dead pixels on one, a fingerprint or something that shimmered when the screen moved even a little with vibrations from keyboard and mouse and then really bad light bleed from the bottom of my 3rd. I would have one if I could find a perfect one but tbh 3 times is enough for me to not really bother again wasted far too much time, two never even made it to my house. Was not dealing with OcUK tho. Hoping the ips 165hz version is in a different league.

I picked one up yesterday i find it great (june 2015 model) and it works flawless:) its a shame you have had 3 bad ones.

I also received my replacement yesterday (3rd one) which took 2 weeks from RMA accepted. Quickly checked last night and its looking good which is a relief. My refurbished panel has an April 2015 timestamp, with just some finger marks on the screen.
