The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

All the time or just occasionally usually on light surfaces? its apparently a known issue with 144Hz panels - I never saw it while running 144Hz and capping at 120-135fps. However when my original Swift went wrong I was getting them on any motion at all at 144Hz - would happen all around the mouse pointer for instance when it went wrong.

Dude I'm amazed ...it looks crap...I was getting ribbed in Gsync poll I created for not having eyes...and all I can see is pixel interlacing and overshoot...

The monitor arena is garbage at the mo...I'm on my second both costing upwards and over £600

Shocking :(

If you think it's that bad then maybe go elsewhere for advice??

You do come across as *extremely* picky :p

I get it sometimes, to be honest, even with it, it's better than blur so I tend to accept it as a limitation of these panels. The pros far outweigh the cons for me, unfortunately nothings perfect, I've had IPS, VA, 6 and 8bit TN and they've all got something that someone hates. For me, VA is the worst, I've no idea how people think it's great?

Realised why the replacement looks sharper - whites don't have the same grainy/murky look as the original panel - I'm guessing the anti-glare coating isn't so heavy as the original.

Hope this one lasts a bit longer but I'm not holding my breath.

Hopefully you have no issues with it. Nice monitor i gotta admit. Though it's taking me a bit of time to get used to the res.

I'm enjoying the monitor too (and have had no problems with it to date).

Saying that, I hope that I haven't suddenly cursed myself by the above statement.

I was torn between which G-sync 1440p 144hz monitor to go for and had been reading this thread with some concern. Having since seen the Dell and the ROG IPS drop I feel better with my decision as it seems all options have some issues.

Black screen or the image becoming unstable with whites flickering but still showing the picture?
I was in the middle of a round of bf3, started flickering to a black screen then back to a proper image, but briefly saw an image of what looked similair to graphics artifacting. Quit out of game and it continued to flicker to black on desktop. Two nights on the trot now ive seen this on desktop. Only seems to happen after the monitor has been on for an extended period.

Still love the monitor, but after 3 dying on me don't trust it at all :(

Would never go back to non-GSync or non-144hz tho!

Was that on the same/original power supply and/or did you get the thing where the monitor keeps powering on from standby every 15 minutes when the PC is turned off?
