The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Cant even get the monitors osd to display either to change settings mate. Only other card I have is the 650ti and no display on it either. If I unplug the swift plug or power brick connection, the Rog logo flashes up but nothing after that. Light in the bottom right stays orange.

Just to update this, I got an RMA from ASUS and they sent me a replacement power brick direct from Let Me Repair (UK).
It's working fine & stays powered on all the time.

Took about 2 weeks from start of RMA to me receiving replacement.
I had the same, except the PSU arrived damaged (cable had a cut through the insulation) and now they won't replace it

9 weeks and they still haven't managed to send me a power supply....... :(

*EDIT*

Then to add insult to injury there phone system told me everyone was busy after being on hold for 10 minutes, offered me the option to stay on the line, then hung up..... *sigh*

**EDIT2**

So got through to someone this time. Apparently my case was escalated to a manager a few days ago who has approved me having a PSU and I need to re-arrange the RMA. Though no one has told me this and the agent seemed to imply that I should know this and that they would never do a thing until it's rebooked........ They also implied that the e-mails I've been having back and forth are from the american side which is why it's all going so wrong and I needed to rebook it on the UK side. When I got the exact URL from him to book this again it's the exact same page and form I filled in 10 weeks ago and he even confirmed this is the case! What a mess of a support service :(

I've been looking at this monitor as it's come down in price.

Aside from the issues you've been having would you suggest this is a good choice?

I'm looking at no more then £500, I can wait a bit so could potentially earn some more cash to get something else, or is there anything else?

I'm currently on a LG 1080p 24" inch panel I got in 2010. Not sure on what panel type though, it does have poor'ish' viewing angles so could be TN.

I have SLI 980 G1's and would like to more to move to a higher res and screen size, while G Sync would be a nice extra.

Thoughts/comments.

Thanks

Anthony.

Had mine for nearly a year now, still going strong with none of the issues people have mentioned previously. It's an awesome gaming monitor and i couldn't live without Gsync now really :)

I guess my concern is this whole debate regarding IPS and TN. And with new IPS Gsync monitors, is the premium price worth it?

Still waiting for my replacement though its only 2 weeks so far :S however another company I had to RMA something to (not PC stuff) just managed a 48 hour turn around so for a "premium" product in the case of this monitor I'm not impressed.

I was impressed by the image, particularly for a TN panel. But sadly never got to try gsync. Compared to my 8 year old benq in sig, for a premium priced product, the swift feels light and cheaply made. Iirc I paid around £450.00 for the benq.

That is one thing I do like about the BenQs - always feel and look well made. Sadly the typical image quality on them seems to be aimed at people with low discernment who just like a very bright and colourful image aka the average consumer :(
