The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Ticks all the boxes for me, although slight disappointment that it doesn't support 3DVision.

When this was announced it was priced at $799, has there been any new on expected UK retail price? The exchange rate would put it at around £475'ish, but then need to add VAT on top of that, so that takes it to about £570'ish which is pretty near the upper limit of what I would be wanting to pay for it tbh.

hm .. my most recent information on support of 3DVision is this:

It does support 3D Vision, and at 2560 x 1440 apparently which is a first. You just can't combine 3D Vision and G-SYNC at the moment. Don't try any straight conversions like that when it comes to ASUS products. We often get charged a fair bit more for them over here ;).

I also wonder if they'll be providing a legit way to activate the light boost hack, I know in the pcper gsync interview, the chap from nvidia did say they were looking to make it an option available in nvcp.

Gsync in 3dvision isn't a massive deal breaker as more often then not you'll sit bang on the vsync limit of 60/72 due to the lack of aa required.

ULMB (i.e. integrated strobe functionality designed for 2D not 3D) is a feature of the monitor, yes. It's part of the G-SYNC wizardry and is an alternative low motion blur strobe mode on all high refresh rate G-SYNC monitors. Basically light LightBoost but official, designed for 2D and without the same colour degradation.

Ok mate, thanks. Certainly wont be paying any more than £599 though. Quite happy with my SA27A950D right now.

You don't happen to have the settings you used on that monitor and the 750D do you? Have tried link on thread you commented on a while back (couple years possibly) but it takes me to your old website I think.

I actually still own the S27A750D (I bought it after reviewing it and really enjoying it). It's a shame Samsung aren't making 120Hz/144Hz monitors at the moment. Just like a newer version of this one. :(

Anyway, I just used 'Group View' for 'Magic Angle' but have seen the white point shift quite a bit as the monitor is used. So I can't really recommend any colour channel adjustments other than going by eye. Same with the brightness, but the 'Group View' setting is a good one to use. :)

Ok Sir, thanks. Will have a fiddle around with it over the coming days. Pretty pleased with the IQ anyway, but always feel I could improve by listening to some one more qualified than myself.

Asus PA328Q 4k announced

This looks like the first release to use the AU Optronics 32" 4k panel that was announced in February. Hopefully we see a RoG variant with Active Sync and/or G-Sync, either way my interest the a 1440p panel is now dead and buried, Asus/nVidia took too long to get to market.

Any word on price Gibbo? I know OCUK are pretty hot on monitors so I'm assuming you must have an inside word on this?

Definatly pre-ordering one of these when they are available!

I will definatly pre ordering one of these, haven't had a proper monitor for 4 years (been using a 40" TV)

Hey guys I take it this is where the queue starts?:D

If the price and time frame are right I may actually pre-order:eek: ususally let the dust settle but this monitor seems to have everything:cool:

Where are you Gibbo? Men with money burning holes in our pockets:o:D
