The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Don't know about anyone else but gaming is excellent on my Dell U2713HM 1440p IPS panel, I hate tearing so I stick V-Sync on with pretty much every game and whilst the input lag is noticeable it's really not distracting. I still wreck enemies on FPS online shooters - 3.4 K/D in BF4 and ~2.2 K/D in PlanetSide 2 :D :p

To be honest though, I've never experienced gaming on a 120/144 Hz monitor nor a modern TN panel so I can't comment on whether that's better or not, but for now I am very happy with my high quality 1440p IPS, and I'll most likely wait for 1440p 144Hz IPS displays to upgrade to.

Since when does k/d matter in bf games? :p

Whenever I start (or continue playing) a new online FPS I try to promise myself that I won't bother caring about my K/D this time, but I do always end up caring anyway :D

It's not ideal but it's always been what I have used to measure my gameplay performance in any online FPS :)

I guess it bores down to what you're used to, i've tried gaming (FPS, fast twitch games etc) on an 1440 IPS and it's horrendous, not saying it's unplayable (clearly isn't, look at all the people that do) it's not enjoyable for me, i also don't game in surround like Spoffle so tight angels what show the flaws of TN don't effect me either ;)

Also, K/D as an indication of playing good? Really?? :D They need to get rid of stats like those

As for getting this monitor? No chance, it's way above what my personal limit is for a monitor, and with G-Sync 4k coming out at a lower price i know where my money *will* be going ;) Never understood people like Retro though, people who criticize the price are 'jealous'...mmm? Really?

Dude I never asked you to understand anything. And yes, people moaning and arguing are the ones that seem to want this monitor more then anyone.

If you don't want this monitor why are you here starting problem's and arguing? I just don't understand why your even here???? This is exactly my issue in the whole thread. You never showed up until now to start a problem. It's people like you that ruin it for others.

Please go away

Guys, keep it civil please. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and debates are good. Personal insults are not and will lead to suspensions.

No it was your pages of personal insults which did that.

Anyway, I've always really liked the idea of 1440 / 120 Hz but this is too much for me personally. I'm going to stick with my Dell 1440 and my BenQ 1080 / 120. Best of both worlds whereas for me with this monitor you're kind of in jack of all trades territory. I'm sure it'll be a good product but will it be as responsive as my 120 Hz or look as nice as my 1440? Probably not so for me personally I'll stick to what I've got.

I can't play shooters at 60 Hz so need the 120 Hz available.

cant wait to see some honest reviews on this monitor. hope it turns out to be great however it seems all monitors have one fault or another so im gonna keep waiting for reviews and maybe a price drop before spending my money

I'd love to buy one of these but its the price that is comical.

$799 in the US, and $1233 here or
£466 in US and £720 here

With UK rip off tax added that's still over £150 more to buy here.

I'll buy when £150 is removed from that ridiculous £720 price tag.

next person to post anything i consider to be antagonistic or baiting, or any form of personal arguing will be receiving a holiday. I don't want to have to shut this thread, but it's become silly bickering now

The first initial batch is now sold out guys.

The second wave of shipments should arrive mid-end of August.

If anyone can actually watch that guy for 37 min they deserve a free monitor.

I skipped through it a bit and then had a look at his website review which was just a preview telling us the spec that we already know, exactly the same as the kitguru site.

Doesn't seem good that Asus are sending review samples out to these people and not real review sites.

They will start to trickle through, every half hearted "review" seems quite positive so far either way.
