Ugh, I really wnt this but now the 4k gsync screen is down to £499 it really makes the price of this look more and more ridiculous
Trying to drive a 4K display at 60 fps or there abouts is much harder than a 2560*1440 display.
That oc3d 'review' makes the ROG SWIFT look very grey on the black boot up screens.
but... with gsync on a 4K 60hz, you don't have to worry about hitting 60 all the time, that is the point of gsync... and driving 1440p at 144hz, not sure that is any easier than 4K at around 40-60
Yeah, I actually thought that afterwards. 1440p at 120hz or 144hz is probably still going to look better/more fluid over all. Especially if it also has g-sync.
Personally for me the addition of g-sync is not really the most interesting part. The reason for the higher cost is also down to the fact this is the first 1440p res with 120Hz+ refresh rate natively, a response time which should be able to keep up with that (unlike over locked Korean models) and not to mention the additional native blur reduction backlight system. Could be the ultimate gaming screen if it's good!
Ive been trying to sort one with Asus but so far no luck. I think it might just be a case of there literally being no stock in the uk yet at all, or anywhere for that matter. Maybe soon I will get my hands on one and we can really figure out what it's like
