Received my swift this morning and G-Sync works very well.
Oh I was sure OCUK showed stock when I preordered last monday (OC1842516) but my order still shows as 'in warehouse queue'. I was kinda expecting delivery tomorrow.
Does this mean I have to wait until 15/08? :|
Thanks ... Just tested that in BF4 and the game feels choppy ,
Wow there seems to inpacked on brightness as well is this normal ..
only had the monitor for an hour and I'm all ready feeling very disappointed in this monitor ,Maybe I am to picky .. In games like BF4 there seems to be more motion blur on this monitor then there is on my BenQ 27T and yes i have all blur off in game ,Monitor is set to 144hz G-sync on .
I love the new 2560x1440 but that's the only thing i do like so far about this monitor ,I cant say i am getting the wow factor from G-SYNC as i cant really notice any change from normal 120hz BenQ 27T to this monitor . For the price tag i was hopping for a wow factor but its just not there for me ,The monitor looks amazing the screen design looks great the small 6mm Bezel are nice , All so there seems to be some thing wrong with the colors on the screen they don't seem to pop out like they do on the BenQ with such brightness and clarity , And this is 8bit ? even now seating here writing this the screen is making my eye ache some thing just feels off about the over all viewing on the screen , All so i notice the view angles are pretty bad if i was again to compare with the BenQ 27T . Maybe i just need a day or two then maybe it will grow me if not ill sell it on ebay ..
Have you calibrated the monitor and lowered the brightness? Most people seem to be running between 20-24 brightness.
The key question is, what frame rate are you getting? For many people the hike from 1920 x 1080 to 2560 x 1440 would cause a frame rate drop, which obviously impacts the motion blur. And on the ULMB mode you really need to be running with a frame rate matching the refresh rate of the monitor or it will look very choppy.
I downloaded the asus_rog_swift_pg278q.icc that some one post in this thread some where ,
All so done some desktop testing moving windows side to side ,its a test I do with all new monitors when i get them , my main desktop tests moving around the folders ,This test i moved nivdia control panel left to right very fast and see there is a ghost tail then I all so done same test on BenQ and there is no trail , And BenQ is 120hz this is set to 144hz i cant seem to work out why this high priced monitor as ghosting like this . I must have some thing set wrong some where ,I have been playing around with brightness and contrast to get the happy medium that i would like ,But 25 for me is too low and the screen looks dim and wasted out looking at 25 ,I like things to look bright and pop color . Wish i could record the motion blur but don't have a fast cam to that . There is a setting in the menu i have no clue what it does called "Image" OD there are three settings there Extreme / Normal /Off . Extreme seems to make more blu normal seems less and off seems like its done nothing ...
Like i say maybe its just me being picky .. But the desktop blur is really annoying when moving folders and windows around . Ghost trails ..

The OSD settings is overdrive and the higher its set the faster the pixels will change. TFTCentral recommends keeping it set to normal for best results as extreme adds pretty bad overhsoot which will lead to trails/ghosting. Also make sure you have set your refresh rate to 144hz in nvidia control panel (cant remember if it defaults to that). If you press the turbo button (above the power button) is should say turbo 144hz on screen. (I was under the impression that this button was supposed to switch between the different refresh rates but it doesnt for me, just lets me know which refresh rate i've got it set at in nvidia control panel).
My settings fully calibrated are:
Colour Temp: User Mode
Red: 95
Green: 95
Blue: 100
Brightness: 24
Contrast: 50
That gives me a white point of 6505k with a brightness of 120cd/m2 which is what I like best. Any brighter and I find it way to harsh. I'm coming from a 1440p IPS and the colours while not as deep/rich are still very good in my opinion. Much much better then my old benq 11t which was horrible.

I was pretty disappointed at first when i heard that people have bad experiences with G-sync...
Now i realise that maybe those people are expecting too much from G-sync and maybe they were running 30-50 fps and expect to see 100fps visual.
My guess is that if you stay close to that 60fps sweet spot, you will have solid performance with G-sync. Off course 30-50 fps with G-sync would be a lot better that without it but it cant do miracles...

Press the turbo button twice to change it
Sooooooo, I enabled the pre-rendered frames to 1 and activated G-SYNC and can't see any lag now, it's actually very nice indeed Still playing around with both settings but I agree that this monitor (when compared to my iiyama G2773HS-GB1 (120Hz - 1ms) monitor is in a class of it's own.

How did you do that?
