The Asus X99 Deluxe Owners Thread

i have my 5930k on 4.5ghz, runs at 1.295v. runs well but as you know the 6 cores get pretty hot. Still, runs in the 50s in gaming and 60-70s for compressing videos. Could probably squeeze a bit more out of it but for voltage increase 4.5ghz is about the sweet spot for me.

New board turned up today, Slots A1/A2/B1/B2 still not detecting any DIMMs. Cant believe that this RAM is incompatible, its been working fine in 2 other boards previous to this one.
Anyone on here with 32GB+ tell me what RAM they are using please so I can buy some more and know its compatible. This motherboard is turning out to be expensive!

Hi Cadmunkey, I've just built up a system with the X99 delux using 32GB of G.Skill Ripjaws 4 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C15 2400MHz Quad Channel Kit - Black (F4-2400C15Q-32GRK), it hasn't missed a beat since the first bootup, all ram detected fine.

Great, thanks mate.

Asus said because my memory is not on their compatibility list I basically have to change it. Just ordered a new 32GB kit that's on their list so hopefully that will finally resolve it.
Hassle of selling my old now.

You guys with 32GB kits, what slots are you putting the RAM in?
Just got a new kit, exact same problem. Beginning to think its the CPU that's causing this.

I've had an issue for the past couple of days with my motherboard and a recurring error code.
I've OCed my CPU and it seems stable in everything I use it for and was stable after a few hours on realbench.
however, for the second day in a row, I get the 6B error code (System Agent DXE initialization (System Agent module specific))
any idea as to what the issue might be?

Just for the record, I had /that/ problem a while back, and it's USB related. To boot, you need to unplug any USB you have, and that will allow you to POST.
Then, upgrade to BIOS 17xx at least. That has fixed the problem for me.

It was quite spooky tho, as I tought the mobo was blown for quite a while!

One thing I've discovered is that if you have a powered USB bus, that 5V will be fed back directly to the motherboard 5V rail, and thus you can't 'properly' shutdown the board and unload the capacitors.
I think it's pretty lame design to allow a peripheral to backpower part of the mobo !!

Yes USB performance on the ASUS X99 MB has been really poor.

Guys could use your help.

Ive just purchased this mobo, and has been 7 years since my last build so little out of it but.

Twice now when the computer has been running for about a hour it crash's and i get failed overclock and reboot. I haven't even overclocked anything yet as im still waiting for some other parts.

The crashes are a week apart as well so i thought the first was just it bedding itself in. I've just updated to latest bios last night and its crashed today.

Im that much of a noob nowadays im not sure how to hunt for the problem any ideas?
