I mentioned on here previously that Owen's probably the best player ever to not be remembered fondly by any set of supporters.

Owen was an excellent player but he was never regarded by Liverpool fans in the same way Fowler was or Gerrard is. He was always regarded as England's Michael Owen rather than Liverpool's Michael Owen. The way he left only made things worse but the killer was then joining Utd. Maybe over time feelings will die down and people will remember him for the player he was rather than how things ended.

Yes :p

Not sure how Madrid, Man United or Stoke supporters will view him once he's retired but he won't be remembered favourably by Liverpool or Newcastle supporters.

I'll remember him pretty fondly for both that winning goal against City and the relentless rage he has caused Liverpool fans on this forum :p

Owen was a strange one, he was never that loved by the liverpool fas even when he broke into the 1st team. Take Fowler as an example, nickname of God, from memory MO never even got one. The way he left was a big knife in the back for a lot of supporters too, strangly enough not as bad as McManaman but he is more fondly remebered (possibly due to being from Liverpool whereas Owen wasn't)

I highly doubt Owen regrets anything from club level, probably just he way his England career fizzled out. Shame really.

I think he could have done more at Real Madrid had he been given more of a chance. He was poorly treated by them and unlucky to be in a team that contained fat Ronaldo and Raul. He had the highest scoring to minutes played ratio in La Liga in the season he was there and I think he could have gone on to be a legend for them given the chance.

It's also a bit unfair for Liverpool fans to forget what he was for the club. I appreciate that joining United is a big no-no for an ex Liverpool player, but he still scored more than one goal every two games for you lot.

Michael Carrick: Has made more forward passes (782) than any other player in the PL this season, and 110 more than any other midfielder

Meh Xavi who?

Go on Andy! :D

Yes it's Rugby but I'd absolutely love it if FA referees wore these...

Not that it'll happen within the next 10 years :p

An interesting idea and the perspective is really good but this is rugby we are talking about. He is 10 yards from the ball max for 90% of the game. Referees are not. All you would get to see would be the referees interactions in the game and the slightly skewed perspective from his camera.

I reckon that eventually something like this will happen in football but its a completely different game to rugby.

Anyone win tickets for the CL final in the ballot? I got an email this morning saying I was unsuccessful :(
Yeah mine was a no as well. :) Colleague at work applied as well, as we both did in the hope of Man Utd being in the final. He didn't get any tickets either. We both kind of don't mind as Utd won't be in the final. Would have been nice to be at a Champions League final at Wembley mind. :)
