What am I to listen to a Wednesday fan about playing football? Get real, you celebrated more than Man U just by staying up.

The fact is, they're a Premiership club and whoever takes over at the club will find a decent set of players. Fans might be crying for Pullis to come back when they find themselves bottom of the league next season trying to 'play' football.

What's your point? It was more relief than celebration.

Wednesday have played terrible football and barely managed to avoid relegation, It's not like I can deny it.

Stoke fans might be crying for Pulis to come back but fans of football will be celebrating.

So don't talk to me not knowing about football when your club is worse ;) 4 points off you this season, at least we're guaranteed that again next season.

I never once agreed with how Stoke play but Pullis led them to Europe and an FA Cup final (IIRC). A lot better than other clubs in the PL.

Pullis got Stoke promoted and they're now an established Prem club. People forget that.

Very true. Getting Stoke into the Prem and establishing them there is a huge achievement. People like to hammer Stoke for the way they play but like you touched on in your other post, it rarely ends well when a side the size of Stoke come up and try to play football.

That said, I think it was time for a change at Stoke. He's had a bit of money to spend in the last couple of years and not only has he failed to kick-on but if anything they're going backwards. Their mid to end of season run was shocking and they weren't that far off going down this year.

I'm not sure if teams have learned how to deal with Stoke's style more as the years have gone on or if Stoke have simply watered down their physical approach. Either way, Pulis has looked lost this season.

More people come and watch Wednesday on average and we have a higher highest attendance, so for all our terrible football more people pay to watch it than watch Leeds.

Well, I might as well tell you now. You lot may all be internationals and have won all the domestic honours there are to win under Don Revie. But as far as I'm concerned, the first thing you can do for me is to chuck all your medals and all your caps and all your pots and all your pans into the biggest ****ing dustbin you can find, because you've never won any of them fairly. You've done it all by bloody cheating.

Leeds used to play terrible, violent football and aren't a lot better now.

Will your fans act like animals again next season and assault our goalkeeper? I don't want Leeds fans back at H'borough next season :).

I also like how you call Purdy bitter but you're the one mentioning scores and results :D. Cute :3.

Pulis got them playing terrible, overly violent and physical hoof ball. He also very nearly led them back down this season so what point are you trying to make?

Stoke play **** football and it's down to Pulis.

He spent a lot of money and for all Stokes horrible football, it isn't the only way to stay in the Premier League, teams like Swansea have come up and played good football and thrived (League Cup win in their second season v Andy harping on about Stoke getting in to Europe and a FA Cup final) and teams like West Ham who come up and while are solid and tough to play against do play some good football.

I agree and I think they were very fortunate that they had worse teams below them.

Not sure either, I think a lot of teams have just started to figure Stoke out and Pulis lacks the ability to advance the team or adjust to maintain Stokes edge over other teams.

For every Swansea there are 5 other clubs that end up going down within a year or so if they try to play passing, attacking football.

It's not a coincidence that over the years, the smaller sides that have tended to do well (or better than expected) have played defensive, longball football. It's simply easier/safer for them to make themselves different than to try and outplay teams.

I'm not sure what your point is with West Ham either. They're a slightly less extreme example of Stoke.
