Sad times at Coventry today:(...less than 2000 'home' fans apparently. I don't see how a boycott is going to help the club tbh, and it seems to be causing a rift in the Coventry fanbase.

They are 1-0 up though

edit- 700 apparently

As part of a financially vital sponsorship deal with Paddy Power, the Skrill South side's players and manager have all changed their names to greats in their positions
Non-league outfit Farnborough FC have signed legends of the game including Lionel Messi, Pele and Diego Maradona ... in a way.

As part of an unusual sponsorship agreement with bookmakers Paddy Power, the Skrill South side have not only renamed their ground and updated their kit – all of their players, as well as their manager, have legally changed their names to those of footballing icons.

Players such as Alan Inns, Matt Ball and Dave Tarpey have swapped monikers by deed poll with greats who played in their respective positions, from Franz Beckenbauer to Paul Gascoigne.

Even their boss, formerly known as Spencer Day, has adopted the new identity of Jose Mourinho.

"The end result is that, on paper, the Skrill South team will be without doubt the best combination of playing talent that has ever been assembled," a Farnborough press release boasted.

"It's not just the Farnborough FC faithful, all Skrill South fans now need only to travel to Paddy Power Park, and not Camp Nou, to see some of the world's best players."

As well as attracting the biggest names in football to the sixth tier, the deal secures Farnborough's financial future, having been in administration since April.

Michael Jackson to play alongside John Lennon, Mahatma Gandhi:

(Reuters) - Michael Jackson will join forces with John Lennon and Mahatma Gandhi after signing for Brazilian Serie B club Atletico Goianiense, the club said in a statement.

The 25-year-old's real name is Carlos Adriano Sousa Cruz but he is usually known by his nickname which he earned for his eccentric goal celebration where he imitates the late American pop star's dance.

Also known as Adriano Michael Jackson, he will line up alongside defender John Lennon, who was baptised John Lennon Silva Santos, and Mahatma, full name Mahatma Gandhi Heber Pio, at the midtable side.

The squad also includes a player known as Rafael Gladiador (Gladiator).

Brazilian footballers can be known either by their Christian names, surnames, nicknames or a combination of all three, often leading to exotic results.

A forward named Alain Delon, named after the French actor, is regarded as one of the most successful players to have represented Vitoria, while a Michel Platini, namesake of the former France captain and current UEFA president, plays in midfield for Bulgaria's Ludgorets Razgrad.

Another Michael Jackson, real name Marileia dos Santos, once played for the Brazilian women's team, taking part in two World Cups and an Olympic Games

Would that be against the team which lost to Fenerbache in the previous round? Did Fenerbache play in the previous round? Sod it, hopefully we'll win and none of this will matter

I think so, it would be the team that Fenerbache took the place of either by beating them or whatever other metric was used to decide that Fenerbache got the place.

If you have played and beaten Fenerbache it will still need to be replayed against the new opposition I think.
