The Banter Thread

I didn't check the stats, it was direct from Arsenal on Facebook.

Maybe they didn't include Joe Shaw as he was a Caretaker Manager and only for 23 games.

Apparently Torres won't get a ban for the clear as day on video face scratching thing because the ref or linesman kinda half saw it. Wasn't the change in the rule precisely to address the "ref saw it and didn't punish it so we can't do it after" ridiculous crap that has happened before? If the change was specifically to fix that little problem, then how the hell can they not ban him for the same reason as they refused to ban people last year.

FA have always been a joke, and continue to be so. I don't think it required a massive ban or anything but he clearly did something relatively nasty and it's not retaliation unless he was called a name, he just tripped him up as he's heading off the pitch, not to get the ball because it was long gone, just to be a ****.

Should finally have my C certificate and my first aid certificate, even though I did that over a year and a half a go, by the end of the week. The FAW admin department is useless!

Some hilarious rumour going round earlier that Zaha hasn't played because Moyes caught him smashing his daughter. Wouldn't be the first one in that...

"Lauren Moyes was dead good in bed. So I told the gaffer. He never picked me after that." Tolis Vellios #zaha

I'm not condoning what he did but Vert was winding him up big time. That trip was ridiculous. Im glad the FA have done nothing about it. It was a schoolyard tussle, nothing more. Have the one match ban and be done with it all. No need to create a ****storm out of nothing.

Fully star swear words - You should know better.

He scratched his face, how is that not deserving of a ban?

Vert took a blatant dive, ban him as well then. It's not like Torres is a renowned face scratcher/trouble maker. Torres wanted to punch Vert i would have thought lol..

I mean seriously, It's handbags at ten paces Cliffy. Forget it, concentrate on the football.

Anyone watching the Ronaldo documentary on itv4. Just had us winning the cl even now it was spine tingling. You tend to forget ronny missed his pen and vds saved anelkas because it's over shadowed by terrys slip.

It doesn't matter if he has history or what the reasons were for him doing it. If the ref / linesman had seen it (or not seen it stupidly enough) he'd have had a straight red and he has avoided punishment on a stupid technicality. Handbags is a bit of shoving not scratching someone's face.

I don't think so, had he seen straight red. I think it would have stayed the same. Of course having a history and generally being known as a good sport will hold him in good light. I just don't think he knew what he was doing. Do you really think he was thinking in his mind, i'm going to scratch someone? It's a heat of the moment thing. I just don't see any point in investigating something which happens all the time on the football pitch basically, Individual arguments and spats happen all over the pitch.. If you saw the Mario Ballotelli pen last night, i personally think that's worse than Torres giving someone a punch for trying to cheat. I'd much prefer a player who vented his anger like that but has a moral compass, than a player who cheats as blatantly as some folks do.

I was literally crying last night, (not actually) but basically...because, i just couldn't believe Ballotelli would then step up and take the pen. Talk about having no sportsmanship about you. Those are the problems that need eradicating just as much. The filth acting that happens all the time now. Celtic dude getting sent off....pffftt....red? for that?
